Since this is 2011 thread, are you referring to the 2011 Black team? They haven't even started u13 yet. Of course they have a good team and everyone knows it, but again, not enough for an entire club to become an MLS next club.

If you are saying history doesn't matter, it's not MY requirement, it's the league's so no point arguing. If you are staying FA has good history bc they have good 2014/2012/2010 teams, then no I would not agree. 2010 is the only 11v11 team and even if considering starting 9v9 years, then they have ONE team with 3 years of good history. Is that enough? Obviously not. So they need to keep building on what they are doing and keep developing to show they have a proven track record across all age groups (not to mention figure out their facility issue and other requirements), but that's not going to help those 2010&2011's now. Hey, I don't like these closed leagues, multiple leagues etc either but it is what it is. Maybe they will succeed in another 5 years
FA parents, just go to RB. If your kid isn't good enough, then why do you want to play MLS anyway, you are just fine in EDP

They have shown they have #3 but not #1. Or who knows, it could be one of the other requirements like fields or coach levels that dinged them. Or politics. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter and the debate is pointless. They arent getting MLS, wouldn't be surprised to see them as an ECNL-RL expansion league next season like the girls side but that would actually be a step down play-wise than just sticking to USYS. But hey, parents hear "national" and get very excited.

There have been other young 2011 teams that basically dissolved for the similar reasons (Liverpool, Union, Valencia, Bloomfield to name a few). It's quite unfortunate, but the talent will continue to just flock to the few. Meanwhile some of those kids would have been better off just playing than sitting on some 2nd team or dealing with the churn and burn of youth soccer.

ECNL roosters are up for 2011, just saw them. Cheers to a new season!
And guess what FA is not on it. Try again....

1. One thread said ironbound was let into mlsnext but only with 2 teams...is that true?
2. One person said Ironbound has older teams...can someone say if those teams won anything worth noting that makes them stand out?
3. If the answer to question 1 is yes, then why not let fa in with just a couple teams too?
just curious about this. Someone please answer

Benedicts just won another National Championship and has players signing pro contracts.
In the end a lot of aside from RBA, MLsN level players play in HS.

Unfortunately the FA antics in regards to sideline behavior, soar winning and soar losing has not made them a likable group.
They are relying on gimmicks like trips to UK, tournaments, and and exhaustive schedule to try and attract players. Granted the coach is good at what he does but if he ever leaves the whole club will collapse.

2.The older teams are pretty good especially the 2007 Boys but on the girls side Ironbound isn’t that good as their boys team
3.I think FA was not let in because the club overall was not that good like Ironbound. So maybe FA can make these top leagues in a few years.
