even when its within the same club its not right most of the time....I agree within the club having a player play up once in a while is perfectly fine and in line with player development ..
however, its been my experience that most of the time its some higher level players coming down to a B team which only has one reason - to win a game/tournament !

Its driven by parents who want to win and have that sticker on the car....so coaches and clubs then also want/need to be "ranked" on got soccer....so they pick and play the bigger stronger players at younger and younger ages...leading to more and more kick it long to the big striker who at U10-11-12-13 can out run and out push their way to a goal....
many times leaving perhaps the more talented players out.

There are some exceptions but I've watched a lot of girls soccer having a D play starting at a young age in rec then town, then club...EDP..NL..ECNL.... even at the ECNL level many teams play that way.....

each year the games get more and more physical ...and I don't think they even carry yellow cards anymore.....all this adds to the amount of teams playing the long ball style...

I wasn’t there so maybe but in the past, for their 06 girls teams, STA has had DA (or GAL now) as their A team, the team that says NL or USYS in its name as the B team, and 2006G as the C team.

It’s plausible as Fire beat the Football Academy team, which is USYS division 1, 6-2 and 6-0. If it was the STA B team too it’s just more evidence of the difference between ECNL and top USYS teams.

I wouldn’t call those top teams. Maybe Clarkstown 2006/07 versus PDA 2006 is a better example.

That’s a good point. Clarkstown beat PDA Blue, the ECNL national champion.

Just meant it as teams playing in the top division. I’ll leave it to others to debate who the top teams are.

They played PDA wolves. Not PDA Blue. It was not an ECNL team. ECNL teams do not play in the EDP.

                      Wolves are Blue 06 Einstein.

It was ecnl team playing at a tournament. He’s right. It was PDA blue/wolves. EDP is better than ecnl at least at this age group.

Okay, maybe EDP is better than ECNL in this one age bracket, but ECNL is better in all the others. Plus it’s better exposure anyway.

Where is the proof in that statement?

It’s okay, it doesn’t matter. One down year for ecnl, but look at all the others. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

How do you get 1 EDP/USYS team beating an ECNL team as EDP is better than ECNL? Clarkstown is a good TEAM and all but ECNL is Elite CLUB National League. Why do people forget that? There will always be A team that is better but not many and not across the ages.
That Clarkstown team went undefeated 9-0 in USYS D1 and had 29GF vs 7GA and would have made a good run at USYS nationals had it not been for covid. None of the teams in their div would have come close to that or beating PDA.
