And asking is just a way to cover the coach’s rear end. Do you really think someone is going to complain about it and look like a whiny baby? You and your kid are selfish and the coach is a jerk.
however, its been my experience that most of the time its some higher level players coming down to a B team which only has one reason - to win a game/tournament !
Its driven by parents who want to win and have that sticker on the car....so coaches and clubs then also want/need to be "ranked" on got soccer....so they pick and play the bigger stronger players at younger and younger ages...leading to more and more kick it long to the big striker who at U10-11-12-13 can out run and out push their way to a goal....
many times leaving perhaps the more talented players out.
There are some exceptions but I've watched a lot of girls soccer having a D play starting at a young age in rec then town, then club...EDP..NL..ECNL.... even at the ECNL level many teams play that way.....
each year the games get more and more physical ...and I don't think they even carry yellow cards anymore.....all this adds to the amount of teams playing the long ball style...

It’s plausible as Fire beat the Football Academy team, which is USYS division 1, 6-2 and 6-0. If it was the STA B team too it’s just more evidence of the difference between ECNL and top USYS teams.

I wouldn’t call those top teams. Maybe Clarkstown 2006/07 versus PDA 2006 is a better example.

It was ecnl team playing at a tournament. He’s right. It was PDA blue/wolves. EDP is better than ecnl at least at this age group.

Okay, maybe EDP is better than ECNL in this one age bracket, but ECNL is better in all the others. Plus it’s better exposure anyway.

That Clarkstown team went undefeated 9-0 in USYS D1 and had 29GF vs 7GA and would have made a good run at USYS nationals had it not been for covid. None of the teams in their div would have come close to that or beating PDA.
