It's something more generational from my time growing up. It's on steroids. It needs to calm down a little bit. That would be one thing. That would also calm down the hysteria with all the parents about trying to get their kids to college. We're in a different world right now and hopefully that's something that will change, is just the overall cost and those resources."

      Spot on.

      A. Parents don't listen.
      B. They don't even know who Claudio Reyna is.
      C. We're one generation away as those current/next young parents are soccer people and their kids will take us over the top.

The girls side isn't that way. They lost 1 coach due to a non soccer issue but they replaced him with a great coach, the support staff hasn't changed and the director sometimes steps in to train the girls if there is a conflict between teams. The teams train together so the girls know both coaches and the director pretty well so it isn't like a revolving door.

CSA has many teams, even Bergen has 2 or 3 teams per age group. Add in the clubs they've acquired over the past few years and there are up to 8 teams per age group. Did one of those teams lose to a town team? Probably. Did one of those teams make it to the nationals? I think so. Did one of their teams win some high profile tournaments? Yes. Did one of their teams lose some high profile tournaments? Yes. Is there something wrong with people who care this much? Probably.

I think my kid's team had a 50/50 season, when she played up, that team rarely lost. When they played the other CSA teams, they won a few and lost a few.

Do they bring girls onto the team to ride the bench? Never. Do they pit the girls against each other fighting for spots on the team? Never. Do they berate girls during the game because the coach will lose his job if they don't win? No.

Do the girls like each other so much that I have to take my daughter's phone away at 1 AM because the team is all snap chatting or face timing or whatever they do? Constantly.

Do the girls encourage each other? Do the other parents encourage the girls? Always.

Is there bitching from the sidelines during games? Rarely. Are there politics? Almost none.

Are the girls getting noticed by college coaches? Yes.

I didn't sign my daughter up for the marines 5 years ago so our experience has been great and the girls can't wait to get back to playing soccer.

CSA has a good sized club now, any complaints or stories you hear on boards like this are likely true but only true from a very narrow perspective over a short period (usually from people who switch teams every year)

I love posts like this that call out "narrow perspective" posts with their own. You and your daughter have had a good experience at CSA. That's great! Other people in this thread (such as the people calling out the Monmouth 09 coach, DM, club preoffers, or whom/whateverever) had different experiences. Those experiences were not great. This forum is about the exchange of information. If you find a great coach and team at CSA, then you are probably insulated from many issues that have been pointed out. This would be the same at any of the clubs people post about on here.

She has played for teams in 3 different age groups, has had 5 different coaches, and has trained with several CSA and Crush teams for different reasons over the years. They wanted her to go to the Monmouth team when they were the 1st DA team, I didn't like it so I said no, very simple. She kept her uniform and her number and just played a year up for the non DA team. When Bergen got the DA she played for them. If there is ever an issue you can very easily find the directors and explain it to them. Unless you are a ****ing loon, they director will address your concerns in public with the entire team and coach.

Like I said, if you are with CSA and you are complaining about something, it is probably the truth, the problem is likely a real one. But if you are here bashing a club because you know nothing about soccer or how to deal with other humans, that is 90% your fault.

Other clubs are absolutely not that way, we know families who went to other clubs because they wanted to win. The coaches took the players and rarely let them play, wouldn't even look at them in the position for which they were recruited or just generally treated them like crap. The club basically told them to leave if they didn't like it.

So try to understand, your perspective is very narrow, like I said. CSA has plenty of other teams that would work for you if you spoke up and acted rationally. Other clubs exist all over NJ that might be better for you. You must realize that the team wasn't created for you, if 12 kids are happy and you aren't, maybe the problem is you.

And I suspect you don't really love posts like mine, you're just angry about someone who sees the situation for what it really is.

If we were considering another club, the closest thing to what we have now would likely be PSA. Several players we know have had great experiences with them over 4 or 5 years.

I know a few of their coaches and like the way they coach.

Plus they are aligned with several other small clubs so you have options that suit players of all different levels.

What I have always avoided are teams that recruit heavily and change rosters every season, that was my main problem with CSA monmouth. I didn't like it, I didn't want my daughter on a team with all new players or a team that was spending more time recruiting than training. I understand that they wanted to create a winning DA team and that's what it took to make one, I just preferred to stay with her original team.

If the entire DA hadn't fallen apart, that might have been a mistake, but it worked out.

I love posts like yours! I'd rather there be a great situation for everyone's kids. My point is your experience is your experience. Maybe CSA Bergen is different than the issues myself and others have had at Monmouth. Putting out a blanket statement that you have to be a crazy soccer parent for the club to not have solved the issue is discounting a lot of posts on here stating the opposite (although I never dealt with admin). My experience was much like the prior poster. Heavy recruiting even during the season, constant roster changes, scrimmages taking up the majority of practice time, etc. I'm not on here bashing the club. I'm agnostic towards them as I didn't go running to administration for any of the above issues.

What was the issue? Was this Monmouth or Bergen?

They lost their DoC left for PSA last year. Big loss for CSA huge get for PSA. Been making a big dif building girls program at PSA. Not sure who replaced him I think that position has been vacant at CSA.

The guy who left for PSA was not the DOC, and in fact didn't do much for them. The girls program at PSA is not doing that well, and the 09 team DM coached at PSA lost almost all their games. Depending who you ask, you'll get two different stories... he quit or he was fired. Rumour has it a ton of kids are not returning to PSA because of him, our friends daughter is one of them. Also, do some research and you'll see alot of negative things posted on a bunch of topics about the guy. From what I'm reading, the guy shouldn't be around young girls. Whether or not it's true, I'm not sure, but there a gazillion people posting about him. (Read the PSA thread and you'll see what I'm talking about.) As for the DOC at CSA Momouth, they do have one and I believe hes been there for quite some time, so I'm not sure where your getting your info from.

Correct Charlie Naimo has handled the transition from DM very well and is a great DOC.

Actually, the current DOC that is being referred to is Andrew Giallombardo who is doing a fantastic job of building up the girls side of CSA. Amazing player retention. In fact he had to create a waiting list because too many girls were looking to move to CSA midyear from their respective clubs when they heard how great he is doing with the program.

Andrew is a great guy used to coach at FC Copa. Glad to hear the teams at Monmouth are doing well and loaded with players. Where are the new players coming from?
