Youth soccer for any girl 02 down to 06 regardless if league has been an unnecessarily chaotic #*&$ show for 4 years. Hopefully this news is true and we are free from some of the stupidity. Now we just have the one overpriced wasteful silly league to deal with instead of the two of them.

Seriously, I would be fine with how NPL used to be, where you can play HS, the league quality was good and your team could go to tournaments at their choosing. At most one national finals event if you made it. Costs were bad enough already without adding multiple 5 day showcase trips in Florida, Colorado, San Diego, etc.

So soccer wire quotes a tweet from a disillusioned PDA coach because he will no longer have a boys DA team going forward? What horrible journalism.

And by any chance, did it also happen on the same day as PDA asked their boys to commit to next season and set up a down payment?

If the ECNL season is cancelled, Match Fit will not return any money, and will probably declare bankruptcy after being sued.

Totally agree! The overpriced national league like GDA and ECNL are total wastes of time and money - completely unnecessary. Maybe the covid crisis will realign things.

Right right right. Totally agree. I want my daughter to play pda, susa, Cedar stars Monmouth, CFC, sta and East meadow 27 goddamn times in a season. Oh and she trains with these girls at said clubs all winter long and plays supplemental with them. So yes let’s just play in our bubble and play no new teams and experience zero in the way of new competition. Jesus Christ. Don’t play ECNL if you don’t want to. Don’t play DA if you don’t want to. Don’t play soccer if you don’t want to. Don’t travel if you don’t want to. The whining over soccer is a goddam microcosm of America. Waaah waaah waaah....sniffle sniffle. Full on wussification of society personified right here on display.

It’s not wussification at all. The team quality is the same as what you get with the travel. You want to play new teams, go to do it at delco or Jeff cup or Dallas. Those events have always existed and can get back to the prominence they used to have. We can save money and not be paying for coaches all expense vacations to Europe or all over the damned country. And with lower costs you will get better competition at the player level as poorer kids with talent won’t be excluded as badly as they are now.

Totally agree! Makes so much more sense, and with this corona virus you will find less parents willing to hop on planes for YOUTH SOCCER. Reality is most players go to colleges that are within four hours of their homes - no need to fly all over the country for soccer tournaments. Stick to the drivable ones on the east coast - plenty of good tournaments and good competition. My kid will not be going back to her ECNL team. I have a whole new perspective- silver lining to being shut in.

Which means she wasn't top 11 and will be replaced by the GDA kids who will be coming back.

It would be great if gda kids would try out for ecnl teams but not sure. some yes. Some no. Ecnl was not popular with these players ir they would not have left their ecnl teams in the first place.

DA players put their noses up to ECNL. High schools were snubbed too.

ECNL and high school have no reason they have to and must take on these kids and their entitled parents.

                              Screw em.

I wish every good player that could afford it would try out for the same league but these kids don't want to play HS and ecnl. They made that clear. Some other league will crop up for them.
