Not a rant. I think this is a good summary of the state of youth soccer at least here in NJ.

EDP is also become about the money and believe there are few clubs/club owners involved with EDP which is a $$ maker....but Alliance is more tightly controlled by fewer people/clubs...

And ECRL is really a marketing thing so teams can be officially branded ECNL(ish)…

Most of youth sports has morphed into a $$$ thing...blame goes both ways ...parents who want to flash kids club around in the same way they buy the BMW...talking about college recruiting at 10 or 11...its really crazy and sucks the fun and true development from the kids right when they should be learning the most....clubs want to win to please the parents and to grow and make more $$..so they bring in the bigger kids who at the moment can beat others of the same age simply due to size etc....becomes a vicious cycle...with less and less development and more and more recruiting...

Paying $3,4,5K to play one sport and having a multi sport athlete it becomes insane....

Sorry just needed to rant a bit....adding all the current events makes all this seem even worse...

Let me get this straight. If a club enters Alliance league it’s all about the $ but if they enter EDP who have long monopolized the entire states leagues and tournaments it’s ok?

Not to defend EDP but they are already established as the next level from town travel and the 1st stop for many club programs. EDP already has players in higher level divisions going to D1-3 schools. That is why they are considered ok which they know they are the gate keepers which is why they charge so much for league. Alliance can never touch that as they tried to sell people on an idea but didn't actually abide by it.

1. Shout out to the Alliance Soccer League as they are on the ball on Coronoavirus updates and thier return to play plan-the website says all league activities are suspended through May 18th.

2. We see what you did there EDP-the recent central and north jersey teams announcement social media post includes CSA - STA - and Stallions who all were original members of the Alliance 7. Would have been gold if they used PSA or MFA.

Just rename it the PSA-MFA Alliance league! Even lowly PDA Shore jumped ship....
