Nothing could be worse then Alliance League. Any league built around club 3rd and 4th teams is scrapping the barrel. I still can't believe they got parents to jump into that.

many if not all of the younger teams like u-8 to u-11 had no choice what league the club was playing in as it was a club decision. one of the main issues with Alliance Soccer League is that parents of these younger age groups were told that the league would feature high level matches with less travel only then having to travel 1 to 1 1/2 hours for u8-u10 matches.

The website has a pop up that says that the league has suspended activities through May 18th.

I agree with you my friend, PDA Blue and White is where it’s at, the other PDA locations just funding for those teams. You got to be a sucker to fall for that but mommy and daddy want to tell their friends that their Suzy plays for PDA!

If your team was able to play in "high level matches" then why couldn't the parents realize they were on a 3rd team or, if on the girls side, just playing a lot of games against MF? Even if sold on the hogwash Alliance was selling after seeing the schedule most people would have walked.

That’s the problem in a nutshell with youth soccer, easily brainwashed parents getting sold on Alliance, ECRL etc. bottom line is if you ain’t on the top teams in the top Leagues in aint worth the $$ you’re putting into it.

In other words they didn't want to spend the money to compete with the 3rd and lower teams in EDP.

The problem is most pay to play elite academies have to sell you on a league that is exclusive so hence the Alliances and the ECRLs. These leagues are so poor in terms of quality they simply should not exist....but they are used as selling ploys for families that simply do not know any better or just are not interested in researching in advance before committing.

Also the Alliance was started by the few clubs like MF who can now profit from the fees charged ...that way they don't need to pay EDP fo their lower teams to play...

Let me get this straight. If a club enters Alliance league it’s all about the $ but if they enter EDP who have long monopolized the entire states leagues and tournaments it’s ok?

Also the Alliance was started by the few clubs like MF who can now profit from the fees charged ...that way they don't need to pay EDP fo their lower teams to play...

And MF can make rules so they can roster more across multiple teams at same age level ...with added bonus of not having EDP teams beat them ...as that's bad for marketing

EDP is also become about the money and believe there are few clubs/club owners involved with EDP which is a $$ maker....but Alliance is more tightly controlled by fewer people/clubs...

And ECRL is really a marketing thing so teams can be officially branded ECNL(ish)…

Most of youth sports has morphed into a $$$ thing...blame goes both ways ...parents who want to flash kids club around in the same way they buy the BMW...talking about college recruiting at 10 or 11...its really crazy and sucks the fun and true development from the kids right when they should be learning the most....clubs want to win to please the parents and to grow and make more $$..so they bring in the bigger kids who at the moment can beat others of the same age simply due to size etc....becomes a vicious cycle...with less and less development and more and more recruiting...

Paying $3,4,5K to play one sport and having a multi sport athlete it becomes insane....

Sorry just needed to rant a bit....adding all the current events makes all this seem even worse...

You think you have bad just try the blue collar trainers that cannot feed family because this covid 19 bs. The trainers need to get back on the horse they are the blood of the youth soccer business.

I agree. The trainers and reg coaches are not making the big money like MF DOC DB ($130,000++ day job salary)..and often treated like crap and seen as easily replaced...
