I really don't follow women's college soccer that much but happened to go to this game so I thought I'd weigh in.

I always find it odd when people are super upset and negative about the play of college kids. They don't owe you anything. Watch, enjoy, be entertained etc. If they lose, get over it.
These are college women not kids. The expectation is high for our Big 10 State school. My taxpayer dollars help pay for their soccer program so Yes, they do owe us something

I don't need a lesson in statistics to know Rutgers stinks. They prove it every year

Club soccer coaches and college coaches should be prohibited from this but this trend is growing , PDA guys shouldn’t be running Rutgers soccer program it’s a conflict of interest . They even do it at the low level PDA south hibo thing although small potatoes to up north all the moron coaches kids play for ND high school and the no nothing dads coach at the club located there . Happens in the south too Sjeb people work for st joes in Philly , even though that’s basically a d3 team it’s a major conflict of interest

think the issue people have is with the lack of focus on technical training and player development at youth feeder club (coupled with seemingly high drive for monetary profits). People are not fans b/c this approach is not good for youth players and soccer in general; and perhaps the end result of that is bearing out in the NCAA tourny results each year. The athletic raw talent is there to work with but it takes a commitment from a young age of years of player development focus, and not pushing for youth "wins" for recruiting purposes.

Second, you absolutely can be a better team and lose to an inferior opponent. Is Liverpool worse than Nottingham Forest?
Worst saying in any sport - "The better team lost" .... No meat head, they lost. if they were better then they would have put more goals in then their opponent did

He's done amazing things with this program that no one else in NJ is doing aside from Seton Hall Mens two year back...(with a team full of imports and maybe 2% Jersey kids).

Some of you sound like you have an ax to grind...did your daughter lose a spot on one of the PDA blue teams?
NJ TS posters absolutely have a problem with PDA/RU and use it as an excuse to rationalize why their daughters are not on PDA or getting recruited by RU. This is nothing new or will it change. Parents just cannot accept their kid is just not good enough.

So my kid did go to PDA and chose not to go to Rutgers (like many of her teammates) I am Rutgers Alumni and have always rooted for Rutgers in all sports but like any other fan of any team I am tired of coming up short every year. If your good with it then thats you. Something needs to change too many are OK with the mediocrity

Just identifying your schtick. It's unfortunate that this site is anonymous because it invites unhappy people to impose their mental illness on you. Have a great day!

When the economic decision was made by Rutgers and Syracuse to move to P4 Big Ten conference was a bridge too far for both programs. Because of their locations it a very tough job recruiting the top elite players for all their sports. The jump from a mid major to P4 is just too much. They lack the depth of elite athletes. It’s that simple. Rutgers WSOC know they can’t retain the top talent instate so there is a reason for the PDA connection.

Honest opinion thats different than yours is a schtick (whatever that is) Go read the sports today. Any sport Pro or College. People have an expectation that the teams they are fans of are going to win and when they don't the team gets criticized. Hardly mental illness from everyone..... These are not little kids and this is not youth soccer. There is a lot of money spent on this program and the expectation is for them to win. You can defend whatever it is your defending but Rutgers lost, they shouldn't have, and many of us have something to say about it.
