One of their best players , who they needed to have a great November esp as a senior, instead lets the team down with a real bad decision to stomp on someone behind play. Not good. She sat out the two most important games of the season. I don't think MO teaches that.

He's done amazing things with this program that no one else in NJ is doing aside from Seton Hall Mens two year back...(with a team full of imports and maybe 2% Jersey kids).

Some of you sound like you have an ax to grind...did your daughter lose a spot on one of the PDA blue teams?

It was an unlucky loss. Rutgers controlled most of the game and seemed, overall, to have more skilled players and create better chances. UConn really had no strategy other than boot it up to Chioma Okafor who was sensational and easily the best player on the field.

No axe here, I am actually a fan. If a Big 10 program relies solely on 1 Player to create offense then thats a problem. Its a disappointing year once again with a 1 and done in the NCAA Championship. As fans we should be critical of the team and expect more. And I wouldn't say Mike has done amazing things. He has done good for the program over the years but as we discuss every year, we don't get top players coming into Rutgers so he has done well with what he gets.

The best PDA players don’t want to come so he recruits average PDA players.

What game were you watching? Uconn scored 2 in the first half in which they dominated. The lone goal Rutgers scored was a lucky one. Rutgers gad zero offensive threat

First goal: boot it up to Okafor who dribbled 40 yards and created a 1v1 with the keeper. Second goal: header off a corner.

UConn went into the half up 2-0, I don't think it's accurate to say they dominated the play.

I thought Rutgers looked like the better team overall. More skilled players, better movement of the ball up the field. RU didn't seem to have a difference maker up top. This was the only game I watched all season, but that was my take. Maybe you saw it differently.

You mean through ball to a wide open Okafor who then out ran 2 defenders then beat Bodmer, the really good Rutgers goalie. Yeah Rutgers was stellar in their attempt at stopping that. All luck by Uconn

Statistically Big 10 Rutgers should Beat inferior Big East Uconn. No matter how you saw it Rutgers lost. You can't be the better team if you lose

                            Rutgers RPI 33
                            UConn RPI 38

Looks like a pretty even matchup to me.

Like I said, Okafor was sensational and easily the best player on the field. Every time she got the ball, she was able to make something happen. That's why she has 11 goals on the season (nearly twice as many as the leading RU scorer). Rutgers doesn't seem to have a true #9, and I think that showed. Maybe that's a recruitment issue? I really don't follow women's college soccer that much but happened to go to this game so I thought I'd weigh in.

I always find it odd when people are super upset and negative about the play of college kids. They don't owe you anything. Watch, enjoy, be entertained etc. If they lose, get over it.

I think you may need a lesson in statistics. First, membership in a conference of 15 teams doesn't mean you are automatically better than every team in a different conference that you believe is, overall, of lower quality. Second, you absolutely can be a better team and lose to an inferior opponent. Is Liverpool worse than Nottingham Forest?
