Hence why teams fold and players quit.

last year my Daughters team started with 21 or 22 and ended with 18. This year somehow there are like 24 or 25. I cant get my head around it. They are apparently playing in 2 leagues and adding an extra tournament, but in reality, this doesn't really add up. Every year I say this is the last time we are doing this, but somehow always get roped back in, so shame on me.

PDA Blue has people lined up ready to give a check as soon as a spot opens. But for +90% of clubs especially at older age groups, the pipeline drys up and you are forced to juggle between playing and competing. It’s a different animal to tackle across al age groups and genders.
Coincidentally (or not), I’m 90% confident this post is about PDA Blue 2011. If it’s not, add them to this list of everyone but 1-2 on the roster getting 50% time right now.

If you aren’t getting 50% playing time… the coaches/club don’t care about you and your development and it should be no surprise when you leave.

your only options mid season are quit and find a new club midseason (in a different league) OR ask to play on a lower team (where you should be playing a majority of the time).

The blow to confidence is not worth sitting on the bench for most of the game. After all- the sport is supposed to be fun and playing is fun.

When it comes to the CB position coaches want players who are reliable and they could trust therefore when they have players good at that position they tend to play the whole match.

That means they are trying to keep everyone. If you think this isn’t for you - leave.

How coach gonna know if other girls are trustworthy or better if the coach plays girls 100% at that position? Our cbs are the worst players on the team and getting100% for years . Makes no sense. Try other girls there get your best players on the field! Move the girls around let them learn.

100% agree. I’d leave mid year as soon as my kids time dropped to that level. Coach should have been honest up front with the family. Not worth your time, money or kids confidence.

While your kid plays 50% others are getting double and probably developing at a faster rate. Choose wisely. In the end the most developed players will be the chosen ones if you believe in development. I’ve heard some people on here who don’t think it exists. I personally think they are morons.

My experience, at the younger ages, was that parents complain when their kid plays CB or D/goalie in general so if you find 2 that don't complain they generally played the entire game. I've seen many good strikers and mids that made great CBs or outside defenders that either they or their parents complained about being on defense.

Easy trigger! Never said that or even implied it.

Our team the outside backs are played the whole game but no one else. Is there a reason for this? They seem better skilled and our cbs are weak but still seems odd.

My guess would be matching speed of wingers. Is your bench slow?

Yes that’s true. Don’t players in the outside back/wingback position need a break though? They are running up and down the field participating in offense and defense. CBs seem to run less so I can see them playing the whole game.
