Players that started at the younger ages on those 07/08/09 teams are some of the best players in SJ and a majority of them now play for ECNL or better GA teams. The current 07/08/09 teams at SJEB are shells of there former selves full of players who can barely trap a ball, have the 1st touch of a mule, and don't know how to pass a ball.
IF I were in charge of SJEB, I would move JT down to the littles and have him and BS not only train every u7 to u12 group but I would have them train the other coaches actual development over wins at the younger ages. I would also hire coaches who have professional and top level collegiate experience. Not the local trash they've been hiring that all seem to have the common thread of having played for SJEB at some point and/or coach at Rowan but D1/D2/D3 coaches like JZ and FK that are actual college coaches for good programs, both of which only have B teams for SJEB for some strange reason. Don, Sandeep, and Greg need to pull their head out their butts and actually focus on the club proper instead of looking to expand to other parts of the state.

Before anyone criticizes Drexel for being a lower-tier D1 school, I'm incredibly proud of her. She's an engineering major and currently on the Honor Roll, which is far more important than soccer. Some of you need to get a better grasp of reality.

I don't like it when kids push themselves to go to some P4 or bust school only to leave a year or 2 in because they aren't playing much or they don't like the classes because they don't exactly have the major they want.
Instead of coming on this site to insult teenagers, why don’t you try posting something positive? Do you feel good about yourself insulting a 19 year old?

Winning was something the parents wanted and it drove us crazy at the time to know our team was better by far but still lose games because of JTs development practices. He told us that league games were nothing more then extended practices and that win or lose it didn't matter, and in the long run, it doesn't. Somewhere over the last 5-6 years JT lost that and has dragged SJEB girls side down with him. Of course SJEB trying to focus on the boys side didn't help much either.

"No one goes to Drexel to play soccer, D1 or not." - Statement of fact - No one has ever or will ever chose Drexel because of D1 soccer
"Not to knock your kids skills or whatever but Drexel doesn't exactly draw the ECNL or GA players in since it is a more specialized type of school." - Another statement of fact that also INCLUDES not knowing your kids level of play. Drexel doesn't draw many players from ECNL or GA and is a school that is chosen based on academic prestige not athletic.
Hey look, a statement that basically says the same thing.
"If my kid wants to be an engineer and play D1 then I would hope they would look at Drexel. I don't like it when kids push themselves to go to some P4 or bust school only to leave a year or 2 in because they aren't playing much or they don't like the classes because they don't exactly have the major they want."

"she chose academics over athletics. More people should invest their time and energy into education, because every player is one injury away from never playing again."
So, get off your high horse and check the holier then thou attitude and take a deep look at yourself. As someone else posted, you brought up about the EDP to D1 Drexel thing about your kid. My comment wasn't a dig at your kid but a dig against you. Why? Because you are part of the problem with youth soccer, or at least your comments and praise are. Spouting off about her playing at a D1 coming from EDP like she went to some powerhouse soccer program or even went to a school that is difficult to get into only shows how little you understand. Did she have other offers, I don't know but I have little reason to doubt it but so what. Mine has offers now from mid and lower level ACC and SEC schools but her top choice is a D3 school that is top in its field on the academic side (7% acceptance rate) for her major but also happens to be a powerhouse in D3 soccer. I wouldn't want to steer her towards playing in any of those D1s just so I can say she plays D1 like SOOOO many other parents do, like any parent who brags about their kid going to places like High Point (yeah, another dig at another poster earlier).

You do realize that schools like Miami, Syracuse, Louisville, Boston, Pitt, Missouri, Alabama, UF, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma are all places that dip into mid/low end ECNL and GA and are all either ACC or SEC schools that have recruited players in our area, right? I would imagine any player in the upper leagues who shows an interest in those schools would have an ok shot. Not all schools in any of the conferences are on the same level. I guess believe what you want though. I've seen players decide not to attend major conference schools for D2 and D3 schools over the years as this isn't football or basketball and there really isn't much of a pro career one could get which isn't even guaranteed if they even went to a D1 major.
