I would be interesting if we could get info on attrition from ECRL2 clubs

Just wondering how many people signed up and then realized that it is not what they expected. Lots of travel for average level games. Also lots of "placeholders" put in teams so they had enough money to cover expenses (didnt Copa, Crush and PDA Sparta all have 25 or more girls on their 2011 teams?) that would be replaced in a second if someone else tried out

Don’t waste your time. Poor teams, clubs, and trainers. By joining ECRL it was a desperate attempt to stay relevant knowing full well it is just for money not soccer.

depends on the team... and this is my experience from the boys side. If your team is terrible... there tends to be 90% turnover( maybe they keep 1 or 2 kids). If your team is mid-pack... they are looking to push down/off around 50% of the kids. If the team is good (and the kids are relatively homogenous) and the parents are good and the coach is good... all but 2 or 3 stay. If the team is good and the coach is bad... about 5 or 6 will leave.

Every team has turnover every year.

Attrition from teams at those clubs would have more to do with the number of rostered kids than the fact they are playing in ECRL. If you are just looking at the posted rosters on TGS, a handful of those kids are on a lower team that they roster on the ECRL roster in case they need players. I doubt the North Atlantic ECRL turnover is much different when you look at roster size. That being said, I know many of those clubs will roster 20, 21, 22+ kids on a team, which is just stealing money. Its criminal to roster that many kids and the excuses the clubs give (eg, planning for injury) are complete BS.

ECRL will roster any kid with a pulse. COPA, PDA-SCP and MFA North ECRL are prime examples.

I don’t know that a high degree of attrition is specific to ECRL2. I know of a GA team that lost 5 players last year and 5 more this year. That is pretty high to me.

Not sure why everyone loves point to the bottom of the league then paints the whole league with that brush. MF Shore, Crush, NLSA, Mercer, LVU, the other PA teams (Hex, Reading), the NY teams all very good. PSAs younger teams all pretty good as well. The top half of the league certainly better than GA pretty much across the board. I’m curious to see how Bayside does this year.

I have to disagree, my daughter plays for one of those ECRL teams. She has grown as a player, improved foot skills, 1v1s and the team does very well. Some of those teams at the club we belong to, yes are not winning. When I watch the games, each week those players\teams are improving. Personally, this is what you want to see from a player\team\club. I know the younger teams at our club are very solid

Ask Copa how well their turnout was for ECRL tryouts when they had maybe 1-2 girls show up for each age group.
now the horrible boys teams are in ECRL and they can’t win their EDP 6 division haha

Because you were there watching tryouts for each age group? LOL. Or you were working tryouts and come here to talk trash. So cool.

It’s all over the place with too many clubs and teams in ecrl and the talent pool spread thin. Ecrl just replaced USYS nl. That’s the only thing that happened.
