D definitely cared more about winning/losing on her HS team than her club team.

Because her friends watched her play, winning gave her social cred at school, felt school spirit and motivated by long-time school rivalries, played against club teammates at other schools for bragging rights, etc. Feels the same way about her college team.

Majority of MLSNext players will not even play D1 soccer!

I read a post that someone was talking Power-5 conferences. Heads up, there is NO such thing as Power 5 conferences in Men’s Soccer!

            Pac-10 does not exist!

SEC, most schools don’t even play Men’s Soccer, Alabama, Florida have no team!

Good D1 teams on men’s side are Denver, St Louis…wake up!

I feel like kids have a better attachment to the school of the town they grew up in than the club they're only at for a season before looking to jump ship to another club the next. The post above basically confirmed that.

Here’s your Top 25 United Soccer Coaches Rankings from December 2023:
                  https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer...soccer-coaches

You’re right about conferences, focus on college schools, not conference.

                  Then, historical success.

playing in high school much better versus academy, at least you have memories, 100’s to 1,000’s of people watching! The student body, community, nobody shows up except parents for academy games.

Majority of players won’t play beyond high school, actually 99.999%, 1 out of 1000 from players playing at high school age (in high school or not), makes it to college roster.

Your only a kid once using all your extra time playing only one sport being pressured by parents who drive all over , fly around to tournaments and juggle work and family and not get a chance to do other activities and sports you may have succeeded at is a big mistake, everyone hits a peak in any sport and mind and body , to actually earn a living playing sports is like winning the lottery and politics play a part and female side is no money to be made at all . Enjoy being a kid play High School play multiple sports and be happy , don’t let parents falling for the marketing nonsense stop you from having fun , if your really good you’ll know and others will too you can’t force it . Life is short don’t get club crazed bc believe me the people who your handing money to at these clubs could care less about any e but their own kids !

So besides soccer, your personal goal should be to graduate college with as little debit as possible.
Agreed and emphasize "as little debt as possible"

I was having this conversation the other day with a fellow soccer dad. Power Schools are based on football not womens soccer

You could say the same thing about college. Less than half the kids going to college will end up in a job that actually requires a college degree. If you're really smart, you'll know and others will too, you can't force it. Plenty of career opportunities that don't require a college degree, so why go?
