PDA Blue 08 Fiasco

MS was so focused on winning that he didn’t care about the players forming bad habits. He’s frantically scream “OUT” when the ball was anywhere near defending goal. Now if you watch the team the back has trouble getting out of pressure. They constantly play a predictable pass to the outside back and there is no outlet.

Players don’t know where to make runs. The simple pass is often skipped in order to go for the long over the top pass that rarely ever gets there.

He had good players. There is no reason this team should be the worst of the blue PDA teams.

Product of Mick for 5 years. Terrible! Other teams developed. They did not. Mick was a horrible coach! Hopefully the new coaching staff can fix whatever is happening. Unfortunately swapping out a bunch of players who also had poor coaching for the last few years is probably not the formula. It really is a crappy environment. Yes, it is a showcase. I’m not sure if any of the players on PDA were able to showcase anything. They still don’t know how to play. They can no longer out run or out work the other team. The movement is awful! Passing is horrendous! Decision making is terrible! I’m sure some of these things will improve.

At this point, anyone is better than their previous coach.

Lot of teams are really good at end of middle school by recruiting within an enormous area, because all the other ecnl clubs are their own or delivering a product even worse as they do.
The 05 team was best of the country at u14, at u19 a good tesm.
The 06 team was top team in the country at u14, now just an other team in ecnl.
The 07 team was top team in the country at u14, now just a good ecnl team.
The 08 team was top team in country at u14(with the tribale soccer, but lot of power) now just an other team in ecnl.
The 09 team is top team in country.

if you look at PDA teams at the middle school
age, you think it is college soccer; they play the same style, but they also look like college players.
Are the PDA blue teams getting worse, because of lack of development or is it because the players they recruit are so much bigger and faster than the rest and peak at a young age. Or is it both?

I’ve seen the 09 team play over the last few years and they aren’t big but every girl plays at a high level. Most of the kids they’ve added seem to be average or below average in size but they can really play.

What’s changed is your asking kids to play the way you would expect a blue team to play but they don’t know how to because over the top is what they were taught for years

Not a good weekend for the 08 Blue. Losing two games and one with the score line of 6-1. Maybe they need to break more rules to gain control back over the field at play. Or should MO move back to the 09s and let MS play smash and grab again.

If God gives you lemons, make some lemonade. Sounds like a great opportunity for new players and others to rise up from the ash. PDA is a great organization that has invested in facilities and coaches. Use this chance wisely. Their alumni have done really well. Other NJ teams talk, these guys deliver

Of course they delivered and will always deliver in a way(quality is going down quickly though) They killed the soccer landscape themselves and will always get good players because of that.
