Stick with making sure my lunch meat order is the proper weight and my gas is the proper octane. This stuff is nonsense on a grand scale/who cares and the state shouldn't be involved at all.

Update: I didn’t have a chance to report or not. Someone else already did. This is a town team…one that’s been in trouble for losing money before. It’s not Old Bridge.
The person who ran the raffle had their best friend, a teacher in the nearby school, win. All it took was one angry parent who had an axe to grind w the teacher (and the person running the raffle, who is not well liked by anyone in town).

Would you report your club if you knew they were involved in illegal activities (nothing to do with the children or coaches- more financial) but doing so would punish the whole club? Here’s the deal:
My daughters town travel club conducts multiple illegal raffles. Every team does it and no one gets a permit from the state as they should. It’s very don’t ask don’t tell as fundraising is a must these days. I’ve always known about it, but I don’t much care as it’s about as scandalous as running a football pool, and it’s helping the kids who live in a world where youth sports is all about $$$.
My problem is that the latest game they ran was completely fixed. There is proof and evidence of the person running it having their best friend win. There are multiple people who want to report this. But in doing so, the entire club will get in trouble (and it will shine a spotlight on a club that has been in financial hot water before). People are really mad that they get forced to fundraise and sell raffle tickets- and then the prize was fixed anyway.
I don’t think we should report it, so the rest of the club doesn’t get in trouble. My friends say that’s being selfish and ignoring what’s right in favor of my own kid. They each dropped a required $100 on raffle tickets and feel duped.
Thoughts?

This is something Old Bridge has been doing for years and we’re caught before. Just another day at Old Bridge soccer club. Someone looking to take a trip to Disney or some sort of home renovation.
