When people say “they play D1” is that the same as a D1 Christian school? We have a mom who keeps bragging that her kid is already committed to a D1 school but it’s a D1 Christian school. Are they the same merit? Or is she playing fast and loose with semantics and terminology? (Asking because she has outright told people that their kids are not D1 material so we would love to knock her down a peg if warranted).

It's not the same. There is a separate Christian athletics asociation for very very small schools and there are two divisions, division 1 and 2. So they are division 1 in the Christian athletics asociation, not NCAA.

Anyway, yeah her kid is going to be a D1 athlete that happens to be at a Christian school. Obviously being a Christian school is important to their family (whatever, eyeroll from me). How much she plays remains to be seen. Lots of kids barely play and aren't on a roster by junior year.

Not truly D1. Let her believe whatever gets her through the day. Day. Arguing with stupidity is a never ending circle.
