You can play as little as 7 games in an EDP season, which is BS. Hopefully those kids are playing more than 7 games and 2 tournaments. Games matter too
Plenty of other similar studies, newsletters, opinion pieces, experiences about the benefits of training vs games for development from a variety of people I would consider experts in the industry. Here is one below.

Don't show that to the teams playing 3 tournaments in 3 weekends as "tune ups"

Disagree with the 4-8 weeks off unless they are talking about 4-8 weeks without your club practice. I think it’s greatly beneficial to touch a ball everyday. I think technical training in offseason (& in season) is vital and sometimes more valuable than club practice where the team sometimes is main focus. Even when we are on vacation my kids don’t go without a collection of balls. The key is they need to love playing because culturally that is the difference between the US and many other countries.
Games, tournaments, championships are of little importance in the big picture and I think most ex players, coaches, and current high level players would co-sign.

Wrong. Pda south is where she went. Tons of drama going to be happening over there now. Most are not unhappy this parent left. Shame for the kid.

Couldn't you just say, "Most are happy this parent left"
Is PDA South going to be a top team in the Fall?
