They lost their top player but have some girls that have gotten better and benefited playing on the super copa team. Also heard they got a 3 solid new players in. The points chasing thing is what it is. They do enter a lot of the right tournaments but the super copa team doesn’t make up for all of that.

    thoughts??

1 left for PDA, let’s see how she does there. Good player but it’s another league. We wish her well. Not sure about the players added.

Benefitted from playing on super copa team? Their EDP 1 schedule was more difficult than their super copa schedule. Plus being with kids you won’t play with again until next year.
I just can’t get behind this logic at all. Improvement is based upon consistent training, not a tournament.

They would have benefited from playing a flight down. Winning is learned behavior. Same with NJ Premier.

No, tall blonde. FA is a decent option but outside of their 2 top teams, they will weaken over time. The top teams have way more depth even at this age.

Winning is learned behavior, but plenty of ways to build that culture internally and individually that are not exclusive to league or tournament games.
I agree that both teams should not have been flighted there, but more for reasons of learning to play the game the correct way in an appropriate skill level. You can’t move the ball if you never have the ball. Also it takes a lot of fun out of the game to lose big repeatedly with little success. You don’t want to lose kids to not finding soccer fun anymore at this age.
As Always it comes down to club and parents logic that We aRe On A tOp FLIghTeD tEAm!!!

So many different schools of thought here. Not sure what’s right , but to each his own. One of my daughter team at a younger age played up and got crushed every week. The next year they mad huge leaps due to fighting in a tougher flight and learning against the speed and learning not to quit. So there are alot of ways to look at it. Do what’s right for you and your child. Clubs don’t really usually make the right decision they don’t care about U!

I think there are advantages if you play up, but goal differentials of their size at age means you were misflighted. You get better off of touches. Teams that play up (typically) are skilled but outplayed physically by more experienced, stronger, faster players. Both NJP and FA were not outplayed as much physically, as they were outplayed by skill and tactics. Our team played both and it wasn’t pretty. Both team’s barely touched the ball the entire game.
Also there is something to be said to playing up. It is a positive season from a parents perspective because no matter the result, they can always hang their hat on the fact that their kid is playing up. Results like NJP and FAs this past season are more likely to cause parents to leave the club due to the realization that the their kid could have better results elsewhere.

Agree 100% that the clubs could not care less about anything other than the tuition.

seems like there are less teams playing EDP. A few P1/P2 teams don't seem to be registered. MF Shore, Crush, NLSA. LVU, im sure others. Is ECNL doing something earlier this year? These clubs have teams registered at U12 or U13, but they look like B teams.

Curious to see what MFA shore is doing. They are irrelevant compared to Morris. But then again so is Crush , they couldn’t win a game in the fall. Maybe they added some special pieces but doubtful.

I think 2 divisions for this level.
