3 handballs is a little crazy.. but we all know Matchfit only has 2 players. When I heard one team had 3 pks, I assumed it was the girl who dives all over for MF getting calls.. Congrats to both teams though for making it. Two just athletic teams but that’s the way US Soccer is these days if you look at our national teams. SJEB and GAK play better soccer but that doesn’t matter at 10 years old
Go back to coaching your GAK team. They need a lot of help. No where near Playing good soccer. Why are your players leaving, that’s the question you should be asking coach????? Hahahahaha

Extremely easy calls. 3rd one was over her head when it blocked a shot. First one fully extended out to the side away from body and blocked a cross from going in. 2nd one the arm was bent, but player turned body and moved arm away from body and used her arm to block a cross. All 3 happened directly in front of the AR who made the call. Correct call for all 3, and not questionable at all. Unfortunate for the player who did very well other than the 3 hand balls.
Watching this game I agree, MFA defensive players were under pressure the entire game. When that happens to any team, you are going to get fouls, handballs…etc. The MFA coach never adjusted at all. As much as I hate CSA, hats off to them, they were pretty impressive in this game. They clearly were the better team. MFA should be happy it was only 3-0. CSA was pouring opportunities non stop. Everyone of their players going fwd were technical and going at the defenders. On another note everyone talks about the MFA 2 players, I didn’t see it. MFA clearly doesn’t develop players technical. CSA was the better team technically all over the field. The MFA Goalkeeper is excellent.

nobody is talking about 2 players at MFA besides their own parents on this forum.

GAK team is toast, although they are a decent side. Just too bad they all went to GAK instead of a decent club because clearly enough talent to compete if they added a few more kids. Instead the experiment lasted 4 months.

Field was too small for the one good player to kick it long to the other good player lol

Is the GAK team breaking apart already??

I thought kickball and 1v3 worked at the highest levels?

If anyone has read MFA forums would know that MFA does not develop technically. It’s the truth whether people want to admit it or not. MFA is not a great club. If you want good technical training, go to pda or CSA.

I already let’s start of first things first anything can happen in this age group. MFA Morris tied PDA 1-1 and then played them again and won 4-0. MFA Morris tied CSA Monmouth 1-1 and then played them again and lost 3-0. SUSA won CSA Monmouth 4-1 and then MFA Morris played SUSA and won them 2-1. Looking at the MFA Morris team it’s obvious who the top 3 players are. CSA Monmouth are a pretty athletic team all around. Both coaches are just recruiters the only difference is JD’s team has more chemistry. I knew MFA Morris was going to lose anyway because they only won GAK 1-0 and CSA Monmouth, SJEB, and Real all won GAK this season by 2+ goals. MFA Morris has 3-5 players that shouldn’t be on that team and it’s obvious who they are too. But also both teams will get even more stronger from talent of the town teams. MFA Morris will eventually pick up talent from town teams such as Bloomfield, Bridgewater, Kearny, Scotch Plains, and Westfield. And they might even pick up a few from Crush, FA, STA and Torpedoes. CSA Monmouth will eventually pick up talent from town teams such as Boca, Freehold, GAK, Old Bridge, and Wall. And they might even pick up a few from MFS and PSA Monmouth. We probably wont see a MFA Morris vs CSA Monmouth in this age group until 1-2 years maybe earlier because of tournaments.

I think the only thing obvious was the decision making and style of play won’t cut it at the top levels. Play the right way, no one player can do it themselves, change your mindset, embrace the team, trust teamates and coach. Be all in.

Agreed, MFA needed to pass more - didn’t seem like they connected more than an handful of passes the entire game and that team can play much better. But also, CSA passed too much. Girls passed up open shots to pass again and again. There’s a reason they only scored on PKs.
Both teams have a bottom 4-5 players who will be replaced in a few years. CSA will likely wind up the better team if they can retain. The coaching was better for CSA and there are no other options in the shore area.

When MFA passes the ball well, they win. When they play kickball, they lose. Very easy to see to those who are paying attention. No I in team folks.

There is no other option in the shore area unless MFA shore gets ECNL. But they would really need to figure out their training issue if they want to get anyone remotely good

There is no such thing as passing too much. It’s called technique.
