Half of Prem 1 isnt really Prem 1 either

huge drop after SJEB, CSA, Real and MFA. Those 4 really should have played up a year. Rest of those Prem 1 Blue teams on point with Prem 1 Red.

Still though, you would think they would ask to play in the top bracket.

They are all probably playing 11v11 in the Fall. Why make them move up now?? Or maybe they do a hybrid of 11v11 and 9v9 ?

Don’t they still have parent coaches or has that club changed the staff recently

Yes, parent coaches. Their selling point is the low costs.

2012 this spring is 9v9. I would have challenged them playing 9v9 vs the older kids this spring.

Seems like they are getting challenged so far though. Real tied FA 3-3 and SJEB only beat Premier 3-0. Not blowouts by any means.

Since no one else is saying it, I will. For some reason the south jersey and shore parents seem way too obsessed in wins and losses at this age. It’s clear none of you really understand how to develop soccer players. No one remembers who won the most games at U11. It’s silly. PDA, FA, STA, Crush, prioritize development over wins at this age. You need to learn to play the right way and part of that process is making mistakes. Standings are for the parents. Kids don’t love losing, but they are resilient. At U11 the most important thing is to play and get LOTS of touches on the ball. The early move to 11v11 is stupid. Kids get way more out of small sided games. I respect MFA for not moving the kids to 9v9 early.

MFA shore is going 11v11 next year (1 year early) I’m sure others will also. But I agree. It’s better to play 9v9. More touches on the ball.

also I respect clubs that value development over winning at the early ages. Those are the teams that will win when it matters. It’s a shame when you get clubs that focus on winning and continue to play sloppy soccer. Parents are so blind by the lack of development when they win.

There are parents who want development, and there are parents who obsess over the standings. And they are from all over New Jersey.

Kick and run still exists even in the Prem 1-2 divisions basically all the town teams in those divisions play kick n run.

For some reason it seems to be more common with the shore clubs at every age.
