Because it's a good old boys network. In case you missed it. Here's an interesting article. Hopefully not through a pay wall. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...-male-coaches/

You need a subscription and I have one. It's an absurdly long piece to copy and paste. While there are issues with toxic male coaches the article makes it seem far more rampant than it is. It also ignores the fact that there are thousands of male coaches that aren't toxic or that there are also toxic coaches on boys teams as well.

Clubs and leagues need to stop passing bad coaches around like the Catholic church used to with priests. Fire bad coaches right away and be upfront with anyone thst calls for a reference. Parents also have the power to walk. Don't put up with it just because it's a "top team"

It’s not discrimination. It’s free enterprise. PDA is allowed to charge whatever they want for their services and people can pay or not pay. As long as they know ahead of time that the schedule is 2 days a week regardless of the boys schedule. It’s called capitalism.

Last I checked there are other options and many of the other options love to post how much better they are than PDA.

Thanks for pointing it out though Karen!

It is discrimination when you're offering the same product to two different groups at a different price just because you can. I'm not saying it's illegal but it needs to be pointed out that PDA is treating girls as second class citizens.

That's the case at many clubs with boys and girls teams.

Good luck with that argument. I’m pretty sure you know what the schedule is before you paid if you are an actual PDA parent and not someone trying to agitate a situation with a BS comparison of the boys and girls program.

Everyone on the PDA boys side will
tell you that the girls program gets preferential treatment. They play more games get the better tournaments better college exposure, practices are filmed. The list goes on.

PDA Boys isn’t even that good and they get more for their money than the girls side. What does that tell you? PDA Girl parents are lap dogs for the coaches.

Absolutely correct. They are allowed to be discriminatory if they like. This should obviously be brought to light and exposed but at the end of the day they are free to do it. Then deal with the consequences of it.

No more discriminatory than not allowing the boys play for the girls team (NOT a gender switching comment). It is a different product. Stop being a victim. If you do not like it, play somewhere else (if you even play there)

It’s funny that being a victim shaming and discriminated against are mistaken for each other. Usually agenda drive. Again you are free to discriminate if you like.

So now it’s a morality issue? There is nothing wrong with what they do as long as everyone is aware ahead of time. The real problem with youth soccer are people trying to make BS claims from their ivory tower with little to no knowledge of simple definitions of words like “discrimination”.

Because tournaments are double the price as the spring season and they usually double up on training in the winter.
