Almost as smart as joining an academy at U17 taking someone’s spot and getting a D1 scholarship. That’s the way to go.

First 2 years of CC is just extending your high school experience. Living at home with your parents just like high school. Yea sounds like fun to me. Why should you experience life on your own away at college living on campus when you can have mom cooking your meals and doing your laundry. 1/2 the price for 13th & 14th grade. Sounds like fun.

Better off with a gap year. And then go to a 4 year program. CC is not a bad thing but one cannot expect it will give you the same outcome as a student who worked really hard in HS, studied, played sports to get into a solid 4 year program.
Unless something traumatic happened in HS - you typically wind up at CC if you just didn’t do the work. And if it was for financial reasons that’s bull**** bc schools give tons money to smart hardworking students from lower income families.

Yes many CC courses are remedial HS classes. Depending on the CC it's semi easy to transfer to the state flagship shool(s) but not higher academic privates. They won't always accept the credits and you have to retake classes. No sports in CC either so it's not really a path for athletes

What I have seen work often is kids go to a lower academic school, kick ass there then transfer to a stronger school. Some kids, especially boys, are late bloomers in high school and need to prove they can handle a college workload

Yes that makes sense. I don’t understand how CC has become a part of the conversation on this board. OP talked about how smart it was to pay 1/2 for Rutgers but it’s my understanding that even RU doesnt accept the credits and essentially you wind up paying for CC and then extra credits for RU. So not sure where the “smart” comes in here.

There are Community Colleges that offer sports. Middlesex County College offers most major sports besides football a d gymnastics

You're not landing on any kind of decent college team playing at a CC first.

We could have a much more intelligent discussion if everyone would just sign their name to their comments. Anonymous blogs take away accountability for one's ignorant statements.

So you admittedly discriminate based on someone's finances?

Unfortunately it’s a very tough corporate world with a lot of competition especially in NY. Soccer competition in our area is a good practice of what’s to come after school if you stay in the tri-state.
I manage lots of people with degrees who don't know squat about much. They are lucky they know people because that is about all they know.

Just because you weren't smart enough to do it don't make light of those that are.

Sound like sour grapes and maybe you should talk to your wife about why you are so unhappy in life.

Lots of transfers make it. You seem clueless.

What about us regular Caucasians who make too much but not enough to get our kids a free education? Tanning salon?

What planet are you from? No sports in CC? Hello is there anyone home?

Rutgers has agreements/programs specifically set up to do this and you sure seem like you would have trouble with where the smart comes in at least with this topic.
