Forget the wnba ask mls how hard it is to break into the American TV mega deals. The mls has total of 90 million in TV deals. That’s the whole league. Rutgers alone will be getting 80 million feom the big 10 tv deal. The MLS is struggling to stay afloat so everyone who thinks the women should rely on professional teams for training should think twice. Whats going to happen when the mls folds? The first thing to go will be the mls next program and guess who will pick up the slack? ECNL

Not stop playing but most around 16-18 have to make a choice. Can the game earn me a living or not. Here you can continue the more you can keep playing the better your chances. We keep more playing longer than anyone else. Pro clubs rely on parents to keep the fire burning here. Elsewhere someone else has to see value in paying.

Look up England, France, Spain, Germany, Brazil. Look at their rosters and tell me they are having a hard time keeping women playing past 18. Stop it with your fact less theory’s. The best players in the world never give up the game bc it’s their life and passion. Stop making excuses for the USWNT’s past successes.

I am just totally baffled at your comments. You make it seem like all the girls in the NWSL are living off their parents. Their is a whole league of women in this county making almost minimum wage. And when my D played for PDA they were asking if anyone would be interested in being a host family for the then Sky Blue players. I don’t think those players were living off mommy and daddy. In fact there was an article about the abhorrent living conditions all the sky blue players were living in just to make ends meet. Meanwhile you are making statements like oh these women overseas make decisions not to play bc of money situations and you have girls here who will never make it to the WNT playing for the love of the game and making absolutely nothing.

Try reading it again. pro clubs are relying on parents keeping kids in soccer from 16 thru College. none of what you wrote is relevant to the comment made.

Having sheer numbers in soccer does not equate to having a good National soccer team. If it did matter countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden or Uruguay wouldn’t even be in the picture. It’s soccer and all you need is 11 on the pitch. Please stop trying to pass your theory’s as fact.

Your statement is not factual. Men or women sheer numbers DO NOT equate to having a good national team. Brung sime facts to the conversation.

Bring some reading comprehension to the discussion do you really dispute that for women, keeping players in organized activity at parents expense from 16 thru College is NOT and advantage? If so, then discussion is pointless. Men is a totally different discussion because the world already has an established professional talent based pathway.

You are dismissed, go back to pornhub.

It WAS a huge advantage, one that is quickly slipping away. Why? Because other nations are developing professional players, not HS players playing college level bootball. Seriously, aside from a few teams women's college soccer is pretty mediocre.

it still is, but as i have said, the RoW needs to rely on Clubs to do that, not federations and colleges and PDA etc. that does not exist elsewhere in anything like meaningful volumes. I have also said, repeatedly, that we should be comparing the top 10 womens colleges to pro development elsewhere and there is still a big volume advantage to the top 10 colleges. that is balanced by the academic requirement to access and /or shock..parents money. the scale is still tilted to the USA in that aspect. Yes, some of the pro dev is better, but not so much for 16 thru College. its starting to become a fairer fight and we are seeing the results. However, to suggest its not an advantage is stupidity.
