We keep more playing longer than anyone else. Pro clubs rely on parents to keep the fire burning here. Elsewhere someone else has to see value in paying.

And when my D played for PDA they were asking if anyone would be interested in being a host family for the then Sky Blue players. I don’t think those players were living off mommy and daddy. In fact there was an article about the abhorrent living conditions all the sky blue players were living in just to make ends meet. Meanwhile you are making statements like oh these women overseas make decisions not to play bc of money situations and you have girls here who will never make it to the WNT playing for the love of the game and making absolutely nothing.

Look up England, France, Spain, Germany, Brazil. Look at their rosters and tell me they are having a hard time keeping women playing past 18. Stop it with your fact less theory’s. The best players in the world never give up the game bc it’s their life and passion. Stop making excuses for the USWNT’s past successes.

If it did matter countries like Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden or Uruguay wouldn’t even be in the picture. It’s soccer and all you need is 11 on the pitch. Please stop trying to pass your theory’s as fact.

It WAS a huge advantage, one that is quickly slipping away. Why? Because other nations are developing professional players, not HS players playing college level bootball. Seriously, aside from a few teams women's college soccer is pretty mediocre.
