pro tip— bring ear plugs and don’t expect any independent thinking on the field.
What commune did you escape from? You just posted how to be an adult.

Straight up Bro response. Never having played a day of college sports this tool lives vicariously through his kid and wants victory at all costs. This bro is willing to subject his kid to horrible coaching and will talk smack about anyone in his way. Keep doing your bro thing. You tool.

Heard another terrible story last night about a Real coach taking his frustration out on a player in front of the entire team. Screaming that she is no good and that the team can't count on her. She was 12. Such a horrible situation. This behavior is not accepted in any other place in life yet this type of verbal abuse is common place at Real. History is full of people who look the other way- Real is in that category.

"I heard" is hearsay and I would bet there's another story to this story.

Coach, I've heard this with my own ears many times as well. Repeated and condoned behavior by the club.

Sorry, not Coach or anyone else on the Real payroll. Just over the repeated berating of a coach by a parent who should have left the club over a year ago. Speak with your actions not your written word.

And with the parents desperate to try to get their kids, at any cost, to play D1 the cycle continues. Interesting parenting technique. You know if this happened in the classroom you would be trying to have the teacher removed.

I’m not looking to have anyone removed. Parents should be desperate to get their kids in a college situation that fits them - naia, d1, d2, d3 or club. And just because your child is incredibly talented doesn’t mean d1 is their right fit. Fortunately, it’s much easier to move to a knew club if your not happy with a coach than it is to relocate your home to a new town because of a teacher.

The teacher comparison is interesting. Do coaches need to have background checks? Think of all the time these adults spend with your child. Constantly in their ear, good or bad.

So you have a child on every team and have firsthand experience with each coach? Or do you have firsthand experience with 1 maybe 2 coaches and are hearing the noisy complainers on others? Been through a couple clubs with kiddos and could say that about most clubs if you take a snapshot in time of the coaching.

But why is this acceptable? Why is it ok to have a verbally abusive coach- ever? Seems to me that parents are so willing to chalk it up as "that's the way high level sports are" in the desperate path for their kids to play in college. Having played sports at a high level, having been an employee and a manager I have never experienced and certainly haven't exhibited the level of disrespect that some of these coaches display. It isn't a right of passage or preparing kids for the future. It is grown adults not equipped for a situation. They are frustrated at their own inabilities and take it out on kids. A very dangerous situation. Verbally abusive coaches should have no place in a club. Yet they are so common people have come to think that it is just part of the process.
