Plus the satisfaction for me as my poor kid knocks your rich kid out of a lineup or off a team is priceless.
    Hence the word “most”

It’s funny to me to watch people caught up in a scam and try to defend it. Lots of cash to travel across the country to play when:majority of girls will end up at an east coast school, none of the girls are getting money to play in college, many won’t play in college and you could play teams a car ride away that are just as competitive as any team out there. It you can brag to your friends that your kid has to fly to a game. Cough up the cash baby!

It’s not advice it’s jealousy. I don’t care what people want to do with their and money. 6k may sound like a lot to some but to many it’s pocket change.

It’s not jealousy it is just pointing out the obvious. You are perpetuating a scam that makes money for clubs, leagues, coaches at your kids expense. I really don’t care if 6k is nothing to you. But please stop acting like your kid is doing something special by paying to be on a club. It’s also good that full college tuition won’t be a problem for you.

Now now kids- no need to argue. It’s a free country you can do whatever you want. The morons that choose to send their kid that doesn’t play to Seattle has to live with that. Almost all the other clubs do fundraisers. Not PDA - they do “charity” games with checks made out to PDA.

                      Soccer Nut
Could be worse, could be in GA and paying to go to San Diego for a week at the end of June. Trip to Seattle is nothing to that.

It’s far from a scam. If you joined a club and didn’t know how much the total cost is, shame on you. If your kid is part if a team they should go or be cut next year. The team is relying on them to be there, even if it means only a couple minutes per game bc those may be very important minutes for the team. Parents who get caught up in ROI are not realistic. If you aren’t doing this just simply bc it’s a great experience for the kids you’re going to be very disappointed. My kid is so excited to go there with her friends, playing soccer against kids from across the whole country, do some sightseeing. It’s worth it to me.

A fundraiser so your kid can travel across the country for a pay to play game? Can I also assist you with your summer home? If you want to waste your money on an established scam that’s your choice but asking people to assist is appalling.

Isnt it just like fundraising at schools for trips, sports teams. Or gofundme pages for literally anything and everything. No one is forcing anyone to give money - people give if they want period. Btw - have seen a gofundme for a beach house especially from GenZ. Not sure that’s any different?
IMO it’s better than the above poster comment on fake charity at PDA- that is just gross.

The parents who took an entirely recruited team to Matchfit and hijacked the badge screams that PDA re recruits, recruits, recruits. Now those same parents are screaming about SCAMS! When in fact they are the ones being scammed by paying an organization for a coach who never was good enough to play HS varsity and has no idea how to train his team! It’s called PROJECTION DEFENSE MECHANISM and it’s what MFS parents do. So PDA parents don’t get caught up in their insecurities bc that’s all it is.
