Simon told us that Lee was away for weeks at a time during tryouts which was why he was answering our questions. The CSA teams and organization of the older teams are dragging down the club. Simon tried to get his younger teams to buy into his madness. Simon alone has lost most of the younger team stronger players because of his ego by putting himself as the head coach of the U10-U12 teams. You can’t have two people coach all of the top teams and then have the rest of the staff coach the 2nd teams and expect it to be successful. Either get some of your 2nd team coaches involved with the top teams or let them go and hire new coaches. However put the kids first and not your egos
As long as it’s not Steve. Simon has had to take over a few of his teams due to his antics and eventual threats of mutiny from parents. It happened a bit with the 2010 team. Now the 2011 team is blowing up.

What happened to the 2010 team?

Steve has high expectations and is tough. He will call parents out as Simon. That is why sometimes they may not be everybody’s cup of tea. Simon coaches the 2011 top team which led to people leaving along with Steve’s accident leading to a change in the team dynamics. My daughter plays here but we are leaving. The club catered to a few new kids which changed the team along with their fathers. My D personally needed a change as the team will be at a different level. I owe this club her development. If the team was the same level as this past year we would stay.

I agree. Not the first teams that have had issues with him. He’s a not a good fit for the club. He probably should just stick to strictly training . Ask anyone who has had him, the majority will agree he does not have a positive impact on the players.

Wasn’t he demoted so Simon took over ? I agree they cater to new players. It’s ridiculous. There’s Also some friendships with the owners and a some groups of girls always moved together although some shouldn’t be on the level they are.

2012 seems to have lost players too. They were much stronger last year, and even in this past fall.

The 2010 team is getting crush in the 11v11 U12 EDP division. That division is made up of the 2010 pre ECNL and GAL teams. That shows that they should stay in EDP and not GAL

2012, 2011 and 2010 teams all lost players from Simon taking the teams. Crush should get rid of the weaker coaches. The only good coaches are Simon, Steve, Neil, Lee and PJ. However Some of these guys aren’t in the right age groups either to make a real impact. Simon needs to go with some of the older teams. Steve should be U11-U13, PJ needs to stick to the youngsters as he doesn’t put in the effort with development, Neil should do the much older ones along with Lee.

Well one positive is my daughter gets real gk training there now that the other guy was let go. He is the reason we never were interested in the club until this year.

Nothing wrong with this. This day in age though and northern jersey parents I am sure some can’t handle it where Steve maybe needs to change his approach with it. However Steve has always been great for my girls. He even visited my daughter when she was hospitalized. His heart is always in the right place. Sure his communication can be better but he has even admitted it himself. I would worry about some of the other crazies in Jersey instead of Steve. Great coach and trainer! Your daughter probably didn’t make his team or you expected him to tell her she was great

So you’ve had all the coaches and can attest to this ? I hardly think so.

GAL is basically EDP level quality anyway. Why are people so fixated on GAL being some great league? It’s not all that different than EDP Div 1 just a solid competitive league.

Around here it is. Other areas of the country is a very competitive. NJ just doesn’t have it.

This is about what you and your daughter wants. If college, Crush is a dead end. No kids in college. Bergen CSA is the same. Crush and Lee have done nothing to promote girls at college level and have no college connections. ZERO. They will constantly lose their best players to World Class, STA, PDA, and Match Fit. Torpedoes top teams are better than Crush top teams. Crush coaching is VERY inconsistent.
