Right now MLSNext works for the MLS Academies because there is high variability between the clubs. Also, if you haven't noticed, the MLS recently changed their catchment area rules for the Academies. This will allow more out of area player movement as the clubs will have to either roster a player or name the player (only a limited number). This will make the MLS academies even stronger. At that point they won't want to play amateur clubs.

Once the MLS Academies remove their teams MLSNext will shut down.
Lol. Go look a a freaking map. There’s zero chance MLS Next shuts down. No one’s paying to fly 12 year-olds for a game each weekend.

You vastly underestimate soccer parents. If their kid is in a free MLS Academy and is on track to go pro or have that impression they will certainly pay to fly to games if needed.

If you're at free to play club it's all free, or is supposed to be. I think DC charges something. But anywho...MLS clubs are in a pickle. They'd prefer to only play other MLS clubs but that isn't feasible because of geography and cost. . So they're stuck in MLSN with very unevencompetition. On the plus side they can cherry pick the better players from the pay to play clubs

But MLS teams aren’t going to pay fly 12 year olds. Just doesn’t make economical sense. It’s why the MLS Next won’t go away.

the MLS teams aren’t going to pay to fly 12 year olds all over abut they will fly 14 year olds and older all over. The MLS next league is set up how they want it. Regional division games with enough talent for the MLS clubs to play at u13 and u14 with the parents driving. If you look at the divisions for u15 and older it all changes. The MLS academies only play other MLS Academies at that age. They will be flying those kids all over for their games.

            u15 west division:
Vancouver Whitecaps, Seattle Sounders, Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids, LAFC, LA GAlaxy, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes

            u15 East (North) Division:
NY Red Bulls, NYCFC, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, DC United, Toronto FC, Montreal,

            u15 East (South) division:
Orlando City, Inter Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta United, Nashville

            u15 Central (south) division:
FC Dallas, Austin FC, Houston, Sporting KC

            u15 Central (North) Division:
Chicago, Minnesota, Columbus, FC Cincinnati, St Louis City SC

Your wrong again. Go look at the schedule for the U15 Union. Check out who they play their first game against. Make sure you click on the Flex tab. Good night.

P.S. You really should get a life. You spend way too much time on this theory.

This was my 1st response in this thread. So that isn’t much time. So you are trying to say they are not playing the teams in their division. Obviously they are playing other games as well. Congratulations Buddy. You cracked the code. The only smart person in the room. They are playing other games on top of their division of only MLS teams which includes mulitiple FLIGHTS. How pathetic someone is angry over that. Small dick energy.

Read the thread for context. Then try composing a second response that apologizes for your first response.

apologize for pointing out that the MLS clubs will in fact be flying kids all over the place for their games after someone said they wouldn't be. right, that would make sense. apologizes for proving you wrong.

I have friends with kids at multiple ages. They are in fact flying. Not everything is posted online on the MLS schedule website. The u13 teams last year flew multiple times as well. Sorry you don’t comprehend.

What have you proved here? They will fly to some games? They will play some additional MLS Academy teams? Was that ever debated? It’s ironic that the U17 Red Bull team has less travel than the U15 PSA E64 team.

All I was saying earlier is that they are setting up to remove themselves from MLSNext. Sure they'll play some local friendlies, but ultimately the won't want games that count against non-professional clubs. But they won't make the move until they know their academies are all in a better position than the amateur clubs. This won't take long.
