I'll never understand why anyone would care what other teams do. Normal parents don't even follow other teams inside their own club, let alone teams at other clubs.

Oh yeah, I’m a dumb MFS parent and I feel absolutely ridiculous. I’m able to take a fun family vacation, combine it with a soccer tournament and help my daughter make memories she’ll have for a lifetime. I’m so stupid. I can’t believe I fell for it.

Or maybe it could be fun for both the kids who are playing at ESPN Wide World of Sports and their families.
Soccer is not the only event that is hosted at this facility. Check with lacrosse parents and field hockey parents.
If you disagree with the concept of these long travel / vacation tournaments, ok seperate discussion.

I’m glad you agree. Because yes you are stupid. Yes you are being used and yes you should feel ridiculous. Just make sure you watch what you say and to who at this “memories of a lifetime” trip surrounded by people who would sell you out in a heartbeat. Sounds awesome.

How is anyone being used? Our club asked the team if they wanted to go, and our team voted yes. Other teams at the club voted no. And a couple of girls from our team chose not to attend for different reasons. I get to have a vacation with my kids and the other families on the team (most of whom I’m good friends with). And my daughter gets to go to Disney World with her friends.

We know RT loves Disney so naturally he wants to go, but you’re not playing high quality teams, so it’s not like that is a selling point. Is he just selling a trip to Disney for his teams?

Again, why do you care? It's not your money or time. Other poster said some opted not to go, and if they didn't have enough players there's other players they could have brought in.

I wouldn’t say I care. I would say I am curious. What is the selling point of the tournament for people? I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt but when people are defensive about something like this it usually means they realize maybe a little of what is being said is accurate.
