seems like 3 of the 11 freshman on the team got some playing time in the first game. Since a school is limited to 14 scholarships a year (for the entire team), I wonder how many are paying to be on the team (since 10 starters are back)

It has given everyone of those players the opportunity to experience traveling to Utah and be part of this team. You will never understand what that means for these young women to experience being part of this P5 Big Ten conference.team. That’s what all the hard work has gotten them for this trip. Just another jealous TS troll.

Actually we have no idea what it represents other than a loss. If RU wants to be one of the big teams, you go on the road and win games like this. There are no honourable losses.

More anonymous TS BS for sure. Listen to yourself. RU doesn’t need any justification from your like. They are in the arena competing against the best teams in the country. That in itself is better than 99% of the teams in the country. That’s special and you will never understand because of your jealousy and hatred. They will compete in one of the most competitive conferences in the country against some of the top competition in the country to win the conference, conference and NCAA tournament. That is better than 99% of the D1 teams getting ready to start the season who will not have a chance to win a conference or make the NCAA. What you think RU needs to do to succeed is rudimentary because you just don’t understand womens college soccer.

Sure. What will you be saying when RU is kicked out of Big10 because their football program is a laughing stock. They are only in Big10 because of football. With all of the conferences restructuring the writing is on the wall for Rutgers

its all anonymous tough guy. Justification from me? Of course, they don't. Just stop talking and do it on the field. Beat good teams consistently. Make an NCAA run. 99% of the teams is irrelevant. and your math is way off. if there are 400 D1 teams, and I'm being generous, the top 1% would mean the top 4. RU are maybe top 40 at this point so more like 90%. I totally understand. I have watched my child play in conference finals, NCAA tournament final 4 games etc. They lose a game and people liek you come here to justify it. Just suck it up and move on. Do better next game. WIn some stuff and then maybe you can talk. And stop the 99% stuff. There are kids and families on here who play at schools just as good as RU and better. This "you dont understand College Soccer" BS gets old...FAST. We do. we just dont make excuses like you do.

I am a Rutgers alumni and a fan. My kids chose to attend colleges out of state for their own reasons but I always follow RU sports. You need to be realistic about Rutgers sports because they don't typically get National Championship level athletes to come here from out of state. The womens soccer program has PDA so we get some of the best girls from NJ but thats not enough to be national champs. We were close 2 years ago but I don't think we have the same talent to bring us there anytime soon. It is exciting to watch them though unlike football. SMH, I don't think we will ever have a Championship team and now with Big 10 expanding the future looks pretty bad. I will still root for them though

That’s correct, they were close just 2 years ago. The point being every year they are competitive in a very competitive league against some of the best competition in the country. As a player that is all you can ask knowing that you will play in the conference tournament and make the NCAA. That’s more than the vast majority of college players. Haters are just going to hate and that’s their problem.

But according to these TS RU haters PSU are failures because when was the last time they won a National championship? It doesn’t matter that they are favorites. Not good enough for these haters.

And they don't win it every year either. They are always in the mix but other teams have improved a lot as well.

In 2015 they were a minute away from Duke equaluzing. Game ended on a corner kick. I have never seen that but in college, no added time. So my Duke favs, one if the best Duke teams ever, got robbed.

If RU wins Big10, national talent will come. We are close to beaches and ocean. Close to cities (NY and Philly) if you want to go to museums, great eateries, shops, historical landmarks, and such. Close to pro teams (NJ, NY and Phil) to catch games.

                                RU needs better marketing.
