From what i have read/heard, it seems there is a rule that if you choose to play for a DA team, you cannot play on your high school team. But there seems to be an exception made for private school students? If so, why? That doesn't sound fair.
Also it seems from past threads that there are even players at non-private schools who are playing both?
Who sets the rules? DA? Club? And what would they do if a player just says "I'm going to do both and I'll just make the scheduling work"? Can they even really enforce it?
What do you hope the outcome would be? Player is sanctioned and doesn't play DA or doesn't play HS? Not quite figuring out if your D is losing time on the HS team because of this player, if she's losing playing time on DA team because of this player or if your D is on the opposing HS team. What's your vested interest?

IMO everyone should do what is right for themselves and not worry about the other. It is wasted energy.

Ok. It would be right for me to get more money so I will rob some of your houses but don’t worry about me. Stop justifying people who knowingly break the rules. We all got sick of it last fall too. If everyone just follows the rules then no complaints. It’s simple.

Thanks Angry Exeter Dad. Nobody cares except you and maybe 4 or 5 others.

No kidding. Move on. That kind of anger dwelling is not healthy.

Strange how some would like the club or league to do the right thing, isn't it? If a club or USSF don't give a crap then they should stop pretending to be the top of the pyramid, highest standards league Just admit you'll look the other way while taking anyone's check and be done with the charade.

So, apparently they won't do your right thing. Move along.

                  The obsession is getting concerning.

                    2) I'm guessing there are two possible sources of complaints about players skirting the rules. First, those talented HS teammates who may have really wanted to do DA, but in the end, gave up the opportunity to play at the highest level so they could play HS. Now the DA/HS player may be taking up some of their HS playing time, while still getting all the benefits from DA training/competition/exposure.

The second source of complaints most likely comes from DA teammates, who made the tough decision to give up HS, and the accolades and recognition that go along with it. Some of these players work hard and commit to the DA team through the entire fall, only to have to give up starting positions/playing time to a player returning from HS play.

I sure wouldn't want to be in the rule skirter's position. It would be really uncomfortable having teammates (and more likely the parents of teammates) on both sides of the fence griping behind your back about how you're cheating.

That's funny... GDA in the NE is definitely not the "highest level".

For those within an hours' drive of the NH Seacoast, it is.

And HS programs in NH like Exeter, Bedford, Central, Bow, and Hanover would all beat this years GDA U17 team anyhow. Its such a pointless discussion about how good SU GDA is...

The pool of players in NH to compete in GDA is too narrow and not deep enough to run a successful GDA program. Now lets move on....

Good lord, you are relentless. I give you that.

                          Obsessed, yes. But relentless nonetheless.

I am familiar with one of the schools you mention. Very familiar. And, no, they would not beat the U17 team. I watched both teams several times (i.e. over 75% of each team) last year with my own eyes as we have a vested interest in both programs.

How do you define "compete" and "successful"?
