Now that GSYSL has cleaned house, it is time the NHSA leadership that were part of this mess take ownership as well for the good of the game.

Decrease in Fees?
Are you kidding? There's always been a shortage of referees in NH, now with the drop in referee fees there will be even less! Get ready, many of our season games will have no referee! Maybe we should have not been so quick to leave the GSYSL? Just because a few had an issue with GSYSL the majority my organization included was always treated respectfully by those I dealt with. Instead of the clubs in NH being leaders they are nothing more than followers failing to stand up and do whats right for the players! Its easier to side with the negative being spread then to stand up for what you know is right! Shame on all of us..

I hate to disappoint I am not with GSYSL! My team had no say in what league we wanted to play in. Unfortunately none of the teams did. The club board members made that decision without asking for coach or parent input! The clubs have done the exact same thing that they accused GSYSL of doing. Simply a statement of fact!
The only bitterness that remains is the few members from the 3 clubs who were involved with NHSA previously trying to start a state run league. NHSA has been running in the red for the last 5 years so the way to help break even was to create a state league. It's all about money with NHSA. They are responsible for bringing into the region and USYSA a set amount of money each year, otherwise the state association could be disolved. We are nothing more to NHSA than a dollar sign. Sadly none of the clubs, coaches or parents know the truth behind youth soccer in NH or the state association running it.

The clubs pay for NHSA. What are they paying for? The volunteer clubs followed the big clubs like sheep to NHSL, and NHSA just wants everyone to stop talking about this issue. If this is a financial matter, the parents are entitled to hear more about it.

There was a meeting between all of the clubs, after hearing from both GSYSL and NHSA and the majority decided to go with NHSL. I am sure that each club had there reasons for wanting to stay with GSYSL or go to NHSL but in the end, you go where the teams are playing. You can say the clubs were sheep but if you are joining a league that has no teams, you are not looking out for your club or your kids.
It has been a very active summer going to these meetings and trying to make sure that my teams had a place to play. I talked to my board and we made a decision that was best for the players in our program. That is the purpose of the board. If you have a problem with your club, then take a more active roll and join the board or better yet form your own club.

Just a few things the clubs should know:
Just a few things the clubs should know:
While GSYSL made a bad decision they have reversed that decision and publically apologized and appointed a new league chair and vice chair.
There has long been a long standing rift between GSYSL & NHSA over the lack of support the State Association has shown ALL the leagues over the past number of years.
So it should be no surprise that the most recent past president of NHSA , who plays an integral role with the current NHSA board was overheard saying “we finally got rid of GSYSL”
It will be no surprise to watch NHSA drag their feet as GSYSL attempts to get back their USYSA affiliation, so GSYSL can provide the NH Clubs with services that may not be league related, but to help support the kids who play soccer and promote the game. Oh wait, isn’t that what the State Association should be have been doing all along, supporting the soccer community, I guess not.
Make no mistake about this move by NHSA it has been in the works for 4 years and is all about $$$. It should be obvious by the way they rolled out the league within 48 hrs of the GSYSL announcement, they were going to do this anyway, unfortunately GSYSL made it easy for them.
Speaking of which, whatever happened to the NHSA committee that was set up 4 years ago to build soccer complex in NH?
As to the referee fees, you get what you pay for. But since the referee fees are paid by the clubs upfront, what happens when referees are not assigned games or don’t show for the game, will the league be refunding that money to the clubs?
GSYSL has served the clubs well over the past years providing support, events and even filling the gaps the State Association has neglected over the years, while NHSA pandered to Region 1 for “Self Recognition” not for the clubs of NH, but for themselves.
