What is the determining factor? Success/titles? Fair play? Doing more with less?
* He's retired, but IMO CL at Manchester Central boys set the highest bar on and off the field over the last 20+ years. He did more for the community, through volunteering, than many coaches could even consider. He has detractors, but I'm not one of them.
* MW at Bedford, while having a fantastic feeder program that allows her to always be in the mix, nonetheless has teams that perform, play "the right way", win alot, and has players that represent themselves, the school, and the community well.
Other coaches have had more success than either of them, but the on/off the field stories of what players say and do and are allowed to get away with goes against what I could consider "best".
Just my opinion. could be wrong, often am.

I should add, those two examples are from completely different ends of the spectrum: One is a hard, demanding coach who coached kids from tough environments. One is more gentle with their messaging, and has kids from the suburbs who are, on the whole, better off than many.

SD has done very well with what has had. Kids are typically well behaved and he has won 3 times I think.
Short term over the last few years it’s hard to deny TB at south. Impressive last few years and pretty well behaved crew of kids..not to confuse them with North who are not.
MW is solid. Exeter program long term has been the class of the state skill wise. I know people complain about them…not as much as bg but they have a stigma to them.
Central girls had a good run but most would not attribute that to the coach although you still have to provide a good atmosphere to win like that.

Boys long term RG at Hanover. Long line of success especially with a smaller school. Although soccer number are the highest in the state. Also is very community oriented. For the Short term TB at Nashua South. 2 champs and final four. It can be argued he didn’t have the most talent in any of those years too. Also has a very high degree of community service involvement.

MW for girls is a tough one. Can’t touch success. I personally have no issue and as an opponent she was kind and helpful for my daughter. But some players over the years did some wild things that just shouldn’t happen on and off the pitch. She didn’t create the issues but feel like she has the power to stop it.

Similar to the post about CL, and to be transparent, I am a Nashua South parent of multiple kids in multiple sports, he has had some detractors but they are few and far between, what TB has done to the boys program in short period of time is spectacular. I base this off of my other kids in other sports, the other teams we play against, and my love of sports. From a success standpoint it would be hard to argue in the short term that anyone has done better. However, the transformation of these kids, many who are at-risk kids, is just simply amazing. You get what you get from him and he is very straight forward about it. He hold them accountable for what they do, he is tough on them, he has rules, they are actively involved in community service, he has them speak to their teachers frequently, he started a program honoring teachers, and the kids like him even though he is tough on them. I think detractors of coaches like this and CL don’t realize with what they are actually dealing with…especially with the inner city schools. So yes some may not appreciate it but I certainly do and I know the school thinks highly of it.

TB from South has always run trainings at a very high level. He's excelled these past few years utilizing the talent in his system with impressive results. A newer one that impressed me was TV at BG this past fall. I believe he got more from that team than the individual talent should have produced. Big improvement over Rocky I would say.
PT from Trinity has really impressed me. He wasn't working with much talent wise but his demeanor and leadership coupled with tactical changes to keep games close were impressive. I suspect he'll be looking to move into a better program in the next year or 2.

It's helpful to let us know if we are talking about boys or girls when providing vague information.
