It got sent back to a lower court. The reason the SCOTUS gave were the merits of the argument, not the issue itself. He will just issue an executive order , and then that can be challenged.
Of note, the SCOTUS did not rule anything regarding the issue of race, as Nancy and the Democrats keep harping about.

No one is " overruling" SCOTUS. There is a clear consensus from Justice Dept Officials that it can and shoudl be added . Back by the way. it used to be there. Never before now were there any complaints. Like so many things that were fine with Dems before Trump took Office, Dems are now against them. The Wall. Immigration reform, the list is quite long.

The entire argument by Democrats that it is " racial" is exactly the same reason they give for almost everything they may not agree with. We heard it for 8 years while Obama was President, and we still here it today from Michelle. As a mater of fact, she can't say enough about it. It comes up nearly every time she opens her mouth./
      I didn’t say “racial”

Show me where I said that.

The courts found that the there was inadequate reason given to include that question in the census, given the clear constitutional mandate on what the census is and isn’t .

Roberts even invites them to come back to SC when they had one .

But of course Trump would sooner pull this ....

You guys must be tired of winning

Narrowly that IS the issue in the courts. Those emails introduced show directly there was racial intent because there is a record of key cons saying so.

Roberts said come back with something that survives sniff test

Elizabeth Warren on Thursday rolled out a plan to “decriminalize” immigration violations, welcome more refugees and focus enforcement on security threats, offering a pro-immigration vision in sharp contrast to President Donald Trump’s restrictive focus.

The Democratic presidential candidate said the Trump administration’s harsh treatment of asylum-seeking migrants -- including the separation of undocumented children and parents at the border -- was based on a law, known as Section 1325, that imposes criminal penalties for improperly entering the U.S. She called for repealing the provision and said she’d use executive power to reduce its enforcement as president.

“We should repeal this criminal prohibition to prevent future abuse,” Warren wrote in a Medium.com post, vowing that as president she would “immediately issue guidance to end criminal prosecutions for simple administrative immigration violations” and “refocus our limited resources on actual criminals and real threats.”

The American Immigration Council and the American Civil Liberties Union announced a class-action lawsuit challenging the conditions of detention in Border Patrol facilities in the Tucson, Ariz., region. Scores of detainees report being held in unsanitary and frigid cells while being denied adequate food, water, hygiene, medical attention, or access to legal counsel. The lawsuit alleges the Border Patrol's facilities violate constitutional due-process guarantees. It seeks no monetary damages, but rather court-ordered reforms, according to ACLU attorney James Lyall.

Acosta is gone. Swamp is still pretty damn swampy.

                              Is Ryan still in office?

“Instead of 'fiscally conservative but socially liberal,' let's call the New Democrats and Blue Dog Caucus the 'New Southern Democrats.' They certainly seem hell-bent to do to black and brown people today what the old Southern Democrats did the 40s,” Chakrabarti wrote in a now-deleted tweet.

Then came the gut punch. AOC told The Washington Post that Pelosi’s comments were “outright disrespectful,” essentially accusing her of racism by an “explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”

Many , many people are already saying that the Democrats ship is sinking, and their hopes of getting their act together for a chance to defeat Trump are fading rapidly. Whispers are even heard that the House is up for grabs also.
