Let's play what if. What if Obama or any other Dem was president, illegal border crossings were at a 20 year low, but he declared a national emergency, tried to illegally appropriate funds without Congressional approval and seize land from residents, ranchers and businesses to build a wall.? As much as many in GOP hate brown people there is no freaking way in hell they would let that happen. Does McConnell let Trump walk all over the Constitution and legal procedure just to keep his fanatic base quiet?

Shore up the border, hire many more Border and ICE agents, continue to deport illegals, all of that. No wall, it's a waste of money vs the other things that are a better use of $. But can we please pivot to real issue like affordable health care, fixing the VA, homelessness and poverty, gun violence, looming debt crisis, improving education....so many other things that this country needs!

We don't need to do a 'what if'. He already voted for one previously so we already have a history of democratic leaders voting for it. No hypotheticals needed.

Good luck with that. The proliferation of sanctuary cities, members of Congress advocating for the elimination of ICE and Homeland Security, etc. The Democratic party needs as many coming in, legal or illegal, as they can.
