Relax, Pompeo's got this. (and war hawk Bolton)

Pompeo: Trump was “incredibly clear” to Kim about when the U.S. would lift the sanctions. Any sanctions relief North Korea receives from the U.S. will be linked to efforts to denuclearize.
In this video, released by the N Koreans , Trump is shown respectfully saluting a N Korea general.

Be proud Cons. Your boy has elevated those losers to the level of POTUS.

n Korea crowing about concessions trump made to Kim ....

Trump's ongoing victory lap was marred, however, overnight when North Korean state media, KCNA, reported that Kim Jong Un said Donald Trump offered to lift sanctions against his regime when they met Tuesday in Singapore, a claim which contradicts Trump's previous statements that the economic strictures would remain.

The KCNA report which was published after Kim returned home from his meeting, noted Trump’s vow to suspend U.S. military drills in South Korea. It also said Trump committed to unspecified “security guarantees” for Pyongyang, and to “lift sanctions against it.”
Oh and that other thing ....

Meanwhile there have been slight differences in recent comments among senior U.S. officials as to whether that means North Korea must first complete denuclearization - and have it verified - or if some goodwill steps would be enough.

Trump himself indicated some wiggle room, saying sanctions relief could come even before the “complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula” -- however that’s ultimately defined by both sides -- is verified. “I hope it’s going to be soon,” he said Tuesday at an hour-long briefing. “At a certain point, I actually look forward to taking them off.”

Adding to the potential confusion, KCNA also portrayed Trump as having given in to Kim Jong-un’s “demand” of suspending military drills.

The lawsuit, filed by state Attorney General Barbara Underwood, comes after an investigation spurred by The Washington Post’s reporting.
The suit accuses President Trump and his three eldest children of repeatedly misusing his nonprofit, including to pay off his businesses’ creditors, decorate one of his golf clubs and stage a multimillion-dollar giveaway at his 2016 campaign events.

The Iran agreement was not approved by Congress , but endorsed by the UN . We are now still finding out some of the details of the financial shenanigans Obama tried to pull off. We sent them what was sold to us as " their own money " , in pallets of cash not even in American dollars. Iran promptly put that money into what they considered a good use of the cash, to fund their Republican Guard and worldwide terrorist actors.

When Trump started taking down this " agreement" which really didn't bound anyone to anything , he was lambasted by Progressives and the media.

The meeting with Kim was the start to a long process with a Government and its people having a life long hate affair with America. You don't turn around more than 6 decades of mistrust and hatred in an hour. You don't drive home with the spoils of your conquest in the baggage compartment of Air Force One. That's not the way it works, and Progressives know that quite well. They just aren't interested in anything Pro Trump, aren't interested in anything that shows that Obama , Hillary and Kerry were incapable of proper and righteous results from foreign policy.

We had the usual soap box oratory from Chuck Schumer , who has helped drive the party more and more to the left , actually questioning the success of the meeting. The facts show his party has failed time after time in recent times regarding foreign policy. He always has all the answers when the Dems are not running the show. When they get their chance, they are unable to do much of anything but apologize .
From the Washington Post, no less.

Obama took lying to new heights with the Iran deal

""First, President Barack Obama failed to disclose to Congress the existence of secret side deals on inspections when he transmitted the nuclear accord to Capitol Hill. (They were only uncovered by chance when then-Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) learned about them during a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency officials in Vienna.) Then, we learned that the Obama administration had secretly sent a plane to Tehran loaded with $400 million in Swiss francs, euros and other currencies on the same day Iran released four American hostages, which was followed by two more secret flights carrying another $1.3 billion in cash.

Now, in a bombshell revelation, Republicans on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, led by Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), have revealed in a new report that the Obama administration secretly tried to help Iran use U.S. banks to convert $5.7 billion in Iranian assets, after promising Congress that Iran would not get access to the U.S. financial system — and then lied to Congress about what it had done.

In July 2015, Obama Treasury Secretary Jack Lew assured the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that, under the nuclear accord, Iran “will continue to be denied access to the [U.S.] financial and commercial market” and that “Iranian banks will not be able to clear U.S. dollars through New York, hold correspondent account relationships with U.S. financial institutions, or enter into financing arrangements with U.S. banks.” A few weeks later, one of Lew’s top deputies, Adam Szubin, used the exact same words in testimony to the Senate banking committee.

But Senate investigators found that on Feb. 24, 2016, the Obama Treasury Department “granted a specific license that authorized a conversion of Iranian assets worth billions of U.S. dollars using the U.S. financial system” — exactly what Lew and Szubin said would not happen — including unlimited future Iranian deposits at Bank Muscat in Oman until the license expired.

Not only that, Senate investigators found that officials from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which regulates U.S. banks’ compliance with U.S. sanctions law, “encouraged two U.S. correspondent banks to convert the funds.” The report says “both banks declined to complete the transaction due to compliance, reputational, and legal risks associated with doing business with Iran.”
