Actually, while you surely cannot erase the harm, you CAN help to alleviate it. It's not rhetoric. It's not going on TV to attack a Presidential Candidate and use much softer words for the perpetrator. It's not taking the moment when it's hottest to go after the gun lobby. It's actually doing SOMETHING to help alleviate the harm.

Not here to defend the crazy religious types, no matter which book they are holding. That's not the point. The point is that there is good in the world, even with those who live their lives differently than you do, and it should be commended.

Funny, the left has no problem painting with a broad brush when it comes to Christians, but resists it vehemently when it comes to Muslims.

Almost the exact opposite for the right.

There are nutjob Christians for sure. Westboro Baptist Church among many others. I just don't think they are as dangerous. Certainly as nutty and unstable. Just not as organized and singularly focused as the jihadists.

My common sense does not allow me to ignore that there is a very small minority of the Muslim world that wants us dead. They hate gays, repress women, hate jews, "infidels" and a few other groups. In essence, if you are not Muslim, and follow sharia law, you deserve to die.

These radicals are at war with our way of life. We need to stop them from acting. They are getting more organized and they use technology and our open societies to target us.

Ignoring these facts out of political correctness is suicide. I also strongly believe that we need to be much more aggressive with clerics and mosques that are concerning. Reminds me of the "don't be a snitch" BS that goes on in inner cities. Troublesome behavior and radical tendencies are not being actively reported or acted on by those who are closest to these people.

Any time you base your opinion of a person or group based on a self proclaimed moral superiority and righteousness you become capable of judging and even dehumanizing that group based on stereotypes or outright bigotry.

This is true for both the Muslims you speak of as well as Christian's. The line is thin that keeps fundamentalist Christian's from becoming violent themselves, much thinner than you might like to believe, in fact many abortion clinics will attest to that fact.

You cant kill intolerance, you can only teach tolerance, and that is becoming harder to do when "Political Correctness" is under constant attack. The entire purpose of "PC" is to ingrain a sense of tolerance to issues, people and lifestyles so that they are not subject to attacks, such as this weekend in Orlando.

Being "PC" is not being weak, it is being aware and tolerant of others.
