My remark about big daddy gubmint was not used as an insult to you. That people walking around Are as thin-skinned is another reason for you not to have your pistol in your waistband at the Cineplex. Look what happens then when someone plays their music too loud or something and the thin-skinned "get out of my yard guy" starts clutching his external death penis.
Q: why are there so few women gun nuts shooting themselves with their own guns.
A: superior intelligence nothing dumber than a white middle aged non college educated gun toting bubba.

Cujo brings up some valid points regarding our budgetary expenditures that heavily favor military of social programs.
I'm for having a military and the world is not a safe place. That said, when was the last time that Congress actually declared War? We seem to do a lot of invading and what not, but we lack the mettle to go through the motions and declare what we are in fact doing.
Everything else in the media is a war, a war on guns, a war in Christmas, a war on drugs, blah blah blah. But when it comes to occupying or invading a nation we don't.
just an observation.

You think this is an abstraction? Again statistics show if there is an incident in my neighborhood it will because someone like this turns out mentally ill. Not going to see either Muslims or hordes from inner city coming up road.
And at the end of the day the guys such a baby. So amazing.

Meanwhile the F-22 Raptor has cost $600 Billion during its lifetime and has barely reached an in service rate of 60%. The F15, 16, and 18 all can perform the F-22 missions with equal efficiency at much less the cost. Each aircraft carrier costs $13B to build and $20B per year to operate. We have more of these ships than the rest of the world by a margin of more 2x.
If you want to cut waste. Start with duplicative and needless weapon systems first.

Those women without husbands? Good chance they may have a boyfriend. That money is income, income that has to be replaced . White Senior Citizens . Well they might not be a problem, but it isn't an absolute certainty that some will not be driven to commit crimes. Children ? Well the ones between 16 and 18 may present a problem . Without many of them having Fathers in the household , there is a greater chance of delinquency.
There isn't much of a defense against an F-22 , and citizens shouldn't worry about having to do so. But there may be a need for defense against a rebellion, civil unrest , riots , demonstrations that get out of hand, etc. That's all I am saying . Maybe it is time to consider self protection at home.
The conversation about cutting waste isn't relevant here. The conversation regards an ever growing underclass of people dependent on the Government , and when and if their pipeline fails to deliver specific dollars, and perhaps services , what will be the result ?
Will you be able to depend on the Authorities to ensure the safety of your family and friends?

We no longer as a nation have the guts to declare war. Beaten down by Political Correctness , fear of how we will be judged or perceived, the days of Bradley , Patton and Ike are long gone. Congress is so occupied in taking care of themselves, their special interests , their lobby, their legacies and such that the real business for America gets pushed aside and kicked down the road.
A person running for the highest office in the land operates above the law, criticizes the " inequality " in our economic system , and is a multi multi millionaire after pleading poverty. Without creating a job, establishing a payroll, inventing an item, pushing forward a breakthrough in something, anything, she is " qualified" to lead the nation.
Along the way , the lies are ignored, the bodies buried, and the Legacy continues.

Oh cut the horsecrap. Neither Germany or Japan posed an existential threat to the United States. If the European or Pacific theatres had gone badly for the US the Axis would have sued for peace. Japan knew that they could only get a draw at best and Germany could never have built the naval strength to invade. The Allies could barely mount an offensive against a small piece of French coastline that was within sight of England and you are suggesting that the Germans could have invaded the US across the Atlantic. Your are out of your mind. It could NEVER have happened. Not a single historian believes that the US mainland was ever in any danger during Ww2.

Let me guess. The little woman still greets you at the door at 530pm with a high ball, a lucky strike, and dinner on the table. "honey, let me get your slippers - you look like you had a hard day at the office...". Do you still listen to George and Gracie on the Victorala??
Where's Tail Gunner Joe when you need him He'd fix this country up twenty three skidoo...

All I said is that were it not for our Military , we might be speaking German or Japanese. So tell me what could have happened had we not responded to the attack at Pearl, and the spread of Hitler all over Europe. I never said they would invade our Homeland, you suggested it.
" sued for peace" Wow, now we get some modern day Progressive nonsense. Just exactly does that mean? The Japanese were butchering people, the Germans were burning them, and you want to sue ? Had Hitler been somewhat sane, and wasn't obsessed with the killing of Jews they might have WON. If he listened to his Generals he might of won. If he didn't try to take on Russia, he might of won. And we STILL had a tough time taking him out.
Germany was working on advanced weapons. Advances aircraft to deliver those weapons. They decimated Britain with the v1 and then the V2 . You think that was the end of their technology ? Japan was interested in advancing their Empire . Words would not have stopped them. Neither would robes and a gavel.
Had America not crushed them both, they would have continued to spread and EVENTUALLY may have become a threat to our country. Nevertheless, the effect on the rest of the world would have been devastating , and the world as we know it would be completely different.
