I wish this was cynical, but it's true. There are actually activists who advocate this.

So, say that happens. No police in my town. The "community will come up with a plan to keep people safe". Someone has to be in charge of implementing that plan, that's the case with any organization anywhere. So, they are the defacto police...but without guns. The police and military are what makes everything else possible. STABILITY! Without stability, this country would be just like every other. Obama has tried to drag the whole American slavery issue back into the discussion. I thought that we had moved past that. Nobody alive today, bigot or otherwise, had anything to do with slavery. I think 99.9% of the population recognizes it as a major blemish on our nations, otherwise, proud history. We can't move forward if he can't acknowledge that the present day white population is not responsible and can't be held accountable for practices that were historically acceptable.
