I think we're over-thinking it. Tough to argue that America was dominated by Christians and males, and white males at that, for most it's existence. I'm not going to apologize for the sins of my great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather, but that's what is being asked of me.

So, currently, we've decided that the best thing to do is to swing the pendulum way far the other way. Let's persecute them now, so over the next 300 years, it will even itself out. Of course, they'll be nothing left of the world by then, but at least two wrongs will make a right, right?

"On Tuesday, President Obama stunned Americans and French alike with his false claims about gun violence in America. "I say this every time we’ve got one of these mass shootings. This just doesn’t happen in other countries,” claimed Obama. It is a claim that he has continually repeated over the years.

Talk about being self-absorbed. The French have witnessed three mass public shootings this year. January saw two attacks, one on the Charlie Hebdo magazine and another on a Paris supermarket. In the November attacks, 129 people were killed and 352 were injured. In just 2015, France suffered more casualties – killings and injuries – from mass public shootings than the US has suffered during Obama’s entire presidency (508 to 424). This number includes the San Bernandino massacre on Wednesday.

Obama also overlooks Norway, where Anders Behring Breivik used a gun to kill 67 people and wound 110 others. Still others were killed by bombs that Breivik detonated. Of the four worst K-12 school shootings, three have occurred in Europe. Germany had two of these — one in 2002 at Erfut and another in 2009 at Winnenden, with a total death toll of 34.

Obama isn’t correct even if he meant the frequency of fatalities or attacks. Many European countries actually have higher rates of death from public shootings that resulted in four or more murders. It’s simply a matter of adjusting for America’s much larger population."

Meanwhile, he is advocating arming Syrian civilians so they can protect themselves, while doing the opposite here. Why was he elected to lead America?

OMG! Cujo, this is the 21st century. I suggest you ought to start reading some of the articles by and about Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

"The enemy of individuality is*groupthink, Gates says, and here he holds everyone accountable. Recently, he has enraged many of his colleagues in the*African-American studies*field—especially those campaigning for government*reparations for slavery—by insistently reminding them, as he did in a*New York Times*op-ed*last year, that the folks who captured and sold blacks into slavery in the first place were also Africans, working for profit. "People wanted to kill me, man", Gates says of the reaction to that op-ed. "Black people were so angry at me. But we need to get some distance from the binary opposition we were raised in: evil white people and good black people. The world just isn't like that."

Oh and btw, the success of Clinton's administration had an awful lot to do with Gingrich as speaker.

How did you get to this post from what was written in the post you were responding to? It makes no sense.

It's the distract them with a shiny object tact. Works on them, surely it will work on us, right?

Actually surprised they didn't toss Rush in there, too. I expect the W references to surface again by dinner time.

                    Cujo,

I would guess you have heard the story about the adulteress about to be stoned in the New testament. Jesus said to the men that whoever is without sin should cast the first stone. They eventually all left without throwing one stone. Jesus then told the women that she can go BUT, TO SIN NO MORE!

Jesus (Christianity) was the answer to the violence you and others may accuse the Bible of advocating. As the above example showed, Christ died for our sins and asks nothing more than for us to repent from sin and accept him as our savior. If you sincerely do accept him (and I would say that you don't have to do it blindly, read the 4 gospels (short reads) in the New Testament and decide if Christ is to be taken seriously or not) then the turning from sin will be easy. No one ever stops sinning as we are simply human, but refraining from overt sin is much easier when you have simply accepted Christ as your savior.

Most importantly to your post, Jesus Christ himself supersedes and advocates AGAINST violence earlier proscribed in the Bible. That's why he came and was willing to die for YOU.
Anyone who says otherwise has not read or is intentionally misreading the Bible.

The Quran has no such substitute for the violence it implores upon it's adherents. The violence is mandated. Just as a true Christian would never advocate for violence against someone who chooses to ignore Jesus, a true Muslim is ordered to commit violence against those who choose to ignore Muhammed.

Look for things to get worse.

(and consider taking a peak at the New testament sometime-much of mankind's wisdom comes from the mouth of Jesus. Also consider that Jesus called himself God in the flesh. read his story and you must make a decision. Either he is a blaspheming liar, a lunatic, or else he is telling the truth). God bless you.

                      Hey people

Farroq was an AMERICAN... What's so hard to understand with that..Being American requires no special ethnic, religious, or ideological character, even though the nationality contains implicit demands. One of those demands is to not be Arab or Muslim.

Believe it or not, Arabs and Muslims (and other minorities) are not the source of our problems. Turn to the politicians who promise you an uncomplicated world for a better target of your anger.

I know you’re ready to counter with “terrorism,” but the term is largely a bromide in the American political vocabulary. It’s useless to debate which groups commit more violence. No week passes that we don’t hear of another white supremacist plot to murder South Asians, Jews, Muslims, Hispanics or African Americans.

The U.S. and its allies generate extraordinary destruction in the regions of the world said to be uniquely barbaric. Police kill with impunity. Our president orders death by remote control. Everybody suffers but the people who oversee this horror

I guess his religion had nothing to do with it huh? Seems like these Muslims, who as you say are "not the source of our problems" seem to be killing a lot of folks and trying to blow other people up. Weird.

It is views like this that are shared by 50% of the voting population and my guess is 60% plus of millennials; based on polls on various subjects, that leads me to think this country is in the midst of a great decline in all areas. The open borders, multi-culturalists, anti Americans are taking over and the prosperity my generation knew is on the way out. It's sad and I feel terribly for these kids who are advocating their own demise.

I try to not take such a dim view. This isn't the first time the 18-25 crowd gets it all wrong, and they usually come around once they get out of their safe zone and realize the rest of the country, the world, doesn't work like that.

Everyone hates the police, until 20 of them come running to take out two loonies hell-bent waging their own war.

Everyone wants free stuff, until they realize that they work 3 days every week for themselves, and the other 2 days the money they make goes to someone else.

Most worrisome for me, and why I am not totally confident in what I say above, is the onset of social media makes things travel fast. People can write whatever they want, it gets repeated endlessly, becomes news, then becomes 'fact'. It both hilarious, and downright scary, what some things get said and repeated.
