You know nothing of that day, know nothing of the procedures, nothing about me or my friend except what I share with you. My dinner with him and the other agents was in late August , on a hot sticky night. You don't forget events like that even though they were decades ago.

I especially remember the weapons that agents were carrying when I stepped up to the checkpoint. It was the evening before the President arrived, and not everyone could easily just walk in.
