Mass murders are defined as 4 or more victims. The vast majority are killed by hand guns, not assault weapons, not assault weapons with bump stocks. 54% are result of domestic violence. In 42% of the cases the shooter exhibited warning signs before the shooting*indicating that they posed a danger to themselves or others.*34% involved a shooter who was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The fact that so many mass shooters displayed warning signs prior to the shootings indicates the value of providing a mechanism to law enforcement or family members that would allow them to petition a court to temporarily remove firearms from an individual they believe to be at risk to themselves or others.

As usual, hysterical libs are barking up the wrong tree.

And for the record, ban the the bump stocks, but know it's not going to prevent the next mass murder because libs are focused on correlation, not causation.

And btw, it is interesting to note how using data collected by*Mother Jones is how the map of mass murders were devised. Mother Jones*modified their definition in 2013 to include incidents during which three or more victims were killed. That means they are counting more than how the US government counts mass murders. Australian government defines mass murders as five or more which means, they are counting less than the US which maybe why they can say they haven't had any mass murders since their gun laws went into effect. There have been incidents in Austrailia that would come under the Mother Jones and US government definition, but they aren't being counted.
