As you know and have told us, there are very important concerns to attend to in the world. Just now there are reports that Putin has arrested 2 Americans. Mexico has canceled meeting with you. Please let the election go. Your very own lawyers concluded there was nothing to investigate in terms of voter fraud.
These are nervy, perilous times. None of us benefit from you failing.

The country’s wide political divisions are causing a serious corruption of the language we use daily in the United States. Important and descriptive words that once had a clearly understood meaning are now being distorted for political or ideological use, and nowhere more so than in the New York Times, once an authority on proper usage.
Let's just say "lying" is one of the most misused terms the press likes to employ these days, but I leave it to you to actually read the rest of the article for plenty of other recent examples.Comment

From a journalistic perspective, this model poses real problems. Surrogates are held to a different standard from reporters and often given airtime even when they’ve proven to be reckless with the truth.
But from CNN’s perspective, a pundits-on-panels model offers several benefits. To start with, it’s cost effective. On-the-ground reporting requires expensive crews, satellite trucks and travel. With far less effort, news executives can present polarized, high-drama debates that spike viewers’ outrage and short-term ratings.
All this was about one thing, and it’s not better journalism. It’s bigger profits. Insiders have reported that CNN made more than $1 billion gross profit in 2016, at least $100 million more than the company projected.
While CNN made its numbers, it missed the story. After the election, CNN’s own media critic, Brian Stelter, rightly told the audience, “Some of you watching right now are having a very hard time trusting this channel.” And yet Time Warner’s chief executive declared 2016 a “killer year” for CNN.Comment
