College is much bigger and broader. No college want just local talent because there is as much depth as you TS parents think. The top colleges in this area are BC & Harvard in D1 as well as MIT in D3. BC offers a highly respected academic university that play in the best women’s college soccer league. End of story. They welcome a broad base of students. The downside is the location in the North East and their athletic facilities. And Harvard is Harvard, D1 in the Ivy’s that sent 3 teams to the NCAA, enough said! Same with MIT who draw top D1 athletes who want to attend this prestigious university and play competitive D3 soccer. Then there is everyone else.
Will be a long time before that happens again.

Most teams play a few neighboring teams.
Puts butts in the seats for both teams.
Grandma and grandpa, siblings, cousins, etc. don't have to travel far.

Like UConn, they should go Big East or even CAA. And I like BC. They would be competitive there. And may get a sniff at post season league and ncaa's.

I like this idea. ^^^
And if not in ACC, they don't have to adhere to the P5 guarantees and such. Could give them more flexibility with players and $$/packages.

Gone from "good team" to don't belong in ACC. That is a D1 team, with players that have been told most of their time in the game that they are studs. Best of the best. Good education, great soccer conference. A win to be admitted there. Thats the goal right?

Do you have any understanding of the economic implications of what league a college is aligned especially in this new era with Media rights, NLI and league networks. BC gets to share revenues with the other ACC members including the ACC Network. Yet, you think they should move down in leagues. College sports is a lot bigger than you can even imagine beyond “sniffing” a NCAA bid. There is no chance BC will ever leave the ACC. When Syracuse was given the opportunity to move to the ACC there was never a thought that maybe they should stay in the Big East where they dominated sports. Do you think Rutgers regret moving to the Big Ten? According to your logic both of the schools should never have left the Big East.

As for Rutgers moving to the Big Ten, AD glad, CFO not so much.
Rutgers athletics has $265M in debt as Big Ten costs pile up (sportsbusinessjournal.com)
Furthermore, no one suggested BC leave the ACC overall. Statement was specifically "for soccer". ACC teams from the south hate coming to Chestnut Hill, which is why they try to bundle in a Harvard game to make the trip worth it.
No one in the ACC would object if BC pulled their women's soccer team and led a movement to extend Hockey East to non-revenue sports, limit travel, and improve success rate
