Frankly she's bounced around quite a bit (at least my looking at it as a person who does a lot of business hiring) - a new gig every two years without a HC promotion. Even if it were a D3 HC spot that shows career progression. Yes some D1 AC's get promoted from within to HC positions but not often at higher level programs and usually with a a steep learning curve remaining.

    working backwards:

    Dartmouth
    FL Gulf Coast (one season)
    Binghamton
    West Virginia (grad assistant)

It will all come down to JL’s win-loss record. He probably has another season or two to turn it around. This hire is a win-win for her. He mentioned she was in the mix for other HC jobs so now she has instant credibility as an associate HC at an ACC school the next time a decent one comes up. And if JK gets fired, she’s right there waiting, even for an interim role. Win-win!

If you do business hiring, you know those in their 20’s now jump around a lot. They don’t wait around to work their way up at one place. They figure out there is no quick way forward after a year and they’re gone. Her time playing at PSU and U-20 WC and frankly the fact she is a woman in what is still a male dominated profession give her a huge leg up at progressive schools.

          Dartmouth too funny.

The lughead AD in combination with the existing turd of a coach is just the right combination to keep bringing in people that won't push the program forward. Hold your ankles people. It's only going to get worse from here. Doormat central

the link played up "her role" on some decently successful teams, yet if she was only there a year or two how much of a role did she really play?

Sounds like they're hoping she will help with recruiting, but the HC is still the HC, the poor record the poor record.

Her recruiting experience isn't with what would be called top notch programs or ACC level. She'll have to work double hard to overcome the head coach and team record

Prospects are not interested. Commits have decommitted because the coach is not at the level. I don’t see this move making any difference. My opinion is that a new HC is needed to rebuild the program.

Ultimately the HC runs the show. A great support staff can certainly help, but not if the HC isn't hacking it.

The best players in their own state don’t even want to play there, why would others.

Oh I don't know. Ask Tom Brady how a team can turn around in a year. The missing piece sometimes is all it takes.

I wish them all luck. Go eagles.

It takes skill. Luck isn’t going to do it.
