More interested in the BC on the jersey and the student-athlete that it also says on her resume. P4 D1 BC student-athlete. Like I previously said it’s just 4 years setting yourself up for the next 40 years.
A recruiter for a “real job” won’t care about the P4. They like D1 student-athletes because it shows commitment, drive, the ability to manage stressful situations, etc. Does a BC student-athlete get hired over a student-athlete from Harvard because they played “P4”? Absolutely not.

I actually think it's kinda cute BC Mom thinks hiring manager has a clue what P4 is....
BC plays its first real soccer team this Thursday. Notre Dame is 6-1 with a loss to Mich St and some good wins.
Agree, they have a very challenging ACC league schedule ahead. I am sure the team is looking forward to the challenge. What’s your daughters schedule starting this week?
Merrimack? Hilarious. You mean kick the ball down field and chase? Why even bother playing them. Two old turds coaching playing 1950's soccer. At least UMass is trying to play soccer. BC ought to rethink their local competition
OMG very funny. My kid's 2nd grade team plays more clever ball than Merrimack. What are they even doing in a BC thread, never mind playing BC.

Does your daughter plan on being a professional soccer player? Mine does not. She plans on having a career and family. All through youth soccer she played the toughest competition in order to develop herself as a soccer player for college. Now she’s happily playing Big East soccer and winning more games than she loses. She doesn’t need to get beat down by Stanford in the name of “development”. This is the final stop on the soccer train and she’s having a blast.
But good luck to your kid. I look forward to watching her international soccer career take off.

The other one will never play in a postseason game, conference or NCAA. The Big East sent a number of teams to the NCAA tournament last season.
Five of the top 10 ranked teams are from the ACC. 0 Big East teams are ranked in the top 25. Those are the facts. Do you really want to compare leagues?

OK Stars White, err, I mean, BC Mom. We can compare RPIs when they are finalized, sound good?

You completely missed the point. The players are adults preparing for the real world. There’s nothing further to learn from losing to top teams. They’re out there having a better experience, because that’s what is left at this point. Saying which teams are in the the top 10 doesn’t matter if YOU aren’t on them. There’s no more soccer after this to hide behind “development” line. Being on a crappy BC team vs a good Big East team is just…sad. Its time to put away the Stars White mentality mom.

No one missed your point, that your mentality. In preparing for the real world i prefer my daughter to “go big” and compete against the best, if you fail /lose then you gave it your best shot. Much prefer that attitude then swimming in the pool of mediocrity vs. teams that will not compete for a National championship or leagues titles. A good Big East team today is defined as not a top 25 program. It’s tie for you to let it go that your daughter wasn’t good enough and it still bothers you club parent.
