Actual video footage of a Mass resident trying to get back into the state after visiting "elsewhere".

And it is not just loss of loved ones....we have lost so much...huge economic setbacks, crushed economic sectors, children not receiving proper educations, not involved in sports as they should be, and it goes on. We must defeat this virus to start to battle back from the losses.

I fail to see how ignoring scientific expertise about how to rid ourselves of this virus should be embraced. The opposite is how to fight this virus.
Just want to be clear on what you are saying. If its proven by science and is widely accepted public health guidance, you support forcing people's behavior. So you refuse to accept people that eat donuts? drink Alcohol? And think we should shut down steakhouses and force fatties to go for walks and do pushups?

I am not sure I follow the analogy. Infectious diseases like covid spread at exponential rates unlike eating donuts.

Someone eating themselves to death doesn't impact the health of anyone else. Covid does. Someone getting drunk doesn't either UNLESS they get behind the wheel of a car. Covid does. Nor does someone smoking 2 packs a day UNLESS they're smoking next to me. Covid does. We have rules against the latter two public health issues. Too bad we can't do more for the first since obesity costs the nation billions each year, but you know freedumbs.

Sure it does. Unhealthy people strain the hospitals, cause a rise in insurance rates, which affects everyone's bottomline.

Not all health impacts need to be immediate.

Start rolling out the fencing and armed guards at the border. Each offender needs to be marked at the minimum; gathered up and held in camps is preferred.
When Orangeman goes to Scotland, we can implement this plan when he tries to return.
Of course, he can always sneak thru his wall on the southern border.
Plenty of cages to put him in...

So much has been done to reduce smoking rates and much of it has been very effective.

I don't know why you are all so negative. Don't you realize the bars are open down there and we won't have to wear masks? Be happy!

88% of people wear masks. why haven't the non mask wearers gotten covid yet? and out of the 88% why are they still getting it in peak numbers if masks work? They obviously don't. We are seeing that we are shutting down the economy and it is still bad. whereas in Florida they never really shut down. Yes they still have covid but it isn't much different between California, New York that have shut down. Protect the vulnerable but everyone else should go on living their lives as normal as possible.
I do however know from life experiences that Massachusetts people do not wash their hands after using restrooms, so let's start with that.

The problem with the "listen to the science" crowd, is they don't really mean it.
They just want the phrase to mean immutable truth, yet they refuse to follow the scientific method and look at some data before drawing conclusions.

It's right there folks on the MA dashboard. Public Health report updates every week. Lots of noise in there about cases and testing everywhere, but unless the person has has an underlying condition (98.2% of all deaths) is living in a LTC or nearing average life expectancy, the assurance of safety is greater than 99.99%.

There is a reason people - including healthy people, are being asked to stay home right and the reasons behind it are based in science. Look up asymptomatic spread. Look up exponential spread. Look up hospital capacity.
