The line has to be drawn somewhere. It’s all relative. Let’s say that to the ODP organizers, 6 mos gap is more equal at 14 than it is at 12. Good for you?

Mental maturity might vary even more than physical, but it's much more situational and harder to identify.

A 40 lb, 6" difference at 12 years old physically is easier to identify and it's healthy to limit the advantage if it's only because a particular player hit their growth spurt 6 mos. or a year earlier. Once you get to older ages, a difference like that might just be the way it's gonna be.

As per this thread "2008 Girls" you know where your child stands physically. Mentally maybe a different story. Highly unlikely that a14 yo girl is going to grow 6" in the next 4 years. Muscle mass can be worked on and an additional +-20 Lbs of muscle can be added but not much more than that. There is not a lot of 6'+ girls that can move well enough to play soccer at high level. If they can most play basketball as it's an all or nothing NCAA sport.

Hahaha???They beat ECNL teams and regional teams and everyone else they played. In fact they have a 3 or 4 game winning streak against national ECNL teams. Do you think the ECNL teams are laughing ?

If supposedly better players are stuck playing in NPL with no exposure, yeah I'm sure they're laughing at them.

Ok but I mean who did they play? Also their roster will be different as Stars Blue 08 welcomes a handful of them into their 22 person roster

They played against everyone on the schedule including ECNL teams. Imagine getting this triggered and jealous because another team of 8th graders from mass had success and won a national championship? Sorry to break the bad news but Stars blue had nothing to do with this. Aztec 08 have the best team in Massachusetts at half the cost. Now that I think of it maybe you do have a reason to be bitter.

Sure thing.

Your kid is a quality player. She could have made ECNL and been seen by the best p5 coaches. But you didn't believe it was worth your time. You wanted to sit on your recliner and mock parents who spent their money and weekends traveling.

Now inferior players on ECNL teams are getting recruited and their parents are taking their turn mocking you back for your choices that led to this outcome.

Is that better?

No you are still a clown. There are around 22 kids that are on the stars blue roster. There are thousands of girls that play soccer in Massachusetts. You are essentially saying none of them can be successful or should be congratulated because they don’t play in the ECNL even though this team has beaten most of the ecnl teams that it has played. Aztec won a national championship and they should be congratulated….end of sentence.

Guess it depends what the end goal is. If it's team bragging rights, have to give Aztecs 08 credit. They keep on trucking even after losing some top girls (including at least one more to Stars Blue for next season?).

If the goal is getting your daughter seen and ultimately recruited/committed, then it's not really a question where your daughter should be playing, is it? All you have to do is take one look at the NE Soccer Journal 2022 commitment list to see the stark difference between programs. I've included the link below but for those without a subscription, I'll save you the $$$...

FC Stars = 31
Aztecs = 2
