No, not the same. The big leagues have showcase events where universities from all over the country show up. If you are looking to stay local d3 then sure… doesn’t matter. You may love your team now but its going to change, it just will. Nobody stays together and lower leagues will ALWAYS lose a % of players that want a bigger stage. This is why town teams felll apart years ago.

This tournament looks legit for late summer. Nefc is a shell of itself. Degrading to be in necsl.

Stars Cup Bracket is out! :Likely the best NE tournament we will see this year based on which clubs are participating. A few fun storylines:

1) Can NE Surf keep competing with the big dogs year after year?

2) What will the Aztecs look like in the top division after having lost a few top girls.

3) Lots of ECNL represented but only Select from GA. Will be interesting to see how Select does.

4) Speaking of GA, where is NEFC GA? Strangely absent given that every other decent Massachusetts team is participating.

5) Scorpions is supposedly improved. Will they be able to hang with Select, SUSA and Match Fit in their bracket in the top division?

6) Great to see some top ECNL teams making the drive, PDA (Blue and White), SUSA, East Meadow, World Class, Match Fit. Makes this tournament that much better!

This is baffling. Aztecs, Stars, Scorpions, Select, Surf but no NEFC GA? What a wasted opportunity to have missed.

Not baffling at all. They come to a loaded tournament and lose to all these ECNL teams, it just shines a light on the farce of their second place finish at GA nationals in June.

NEFC lost almost half of their 2007 GA team to ECNL teams going into this year. They will keep those 2008s (and younger) as far away from Stars and Scorpions as possible.
