Why are we still talking about the outcome of one soccer game as the defining moment for anything at all? Looking forward to the fall season!

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNo, not the same. The big leagues have showcase events where universities from all over the country show up. If you are looking to stay local d3 then sure… doesn’t matter. You may love your team now but its going to change, it just will. Nobody stays together and lower leagues will ALWAYS lose a % of players that want a bigger stage. This is why town teams felll apart years ago.
A tale as old as time....

The level of competition in the lower leagues just isn't as strong as the top ones. College ball is fast and intense and coaches want players who can handle that. Training with better players makes you a better player. However, if your kid is more a low D1 or D3 level player then they can possibly get recruited. Typically a lower level team might have a few players land lower level spots, but never an entire roster. Getting recruited will so take more work because the coach exposure won't be as strong. You can look at college coach lists at events like Jeff Cup or an EDP showcase to see what types of schools attend

Don't just look at the roster but who actually PLAYS. If the starters are mostly ECNL/top club players, lots of accolades? It's going to be very difficult to crack that roster let alone actually play.
